Mandira Bedi is an epitome of woman empowerment and has always been an inspiration to many. She had risen to fame with her phenomenal acting in the 90s serial, Shanti. Mandira has always lived her life on her own terms, breaking all the stereotypes set by the society. The actress had married filmmaker, Rraj Kaushal on February 14, 1999, and after 12 years of being married, the couple was blessed with a baby boy on June 17, 2011.

Two years back, Mandira and Rraj had applied for adoption at the CARA (Central Adoption Resource Authority), central adoption agency under which all adoptions across the country take place. And on Dussehra 2020, the couple had adopted a baby girl into their lives, whom they have named Tara Bedi Kaushal. On October 25, 2020, Mandira had announced the news of welcoming a baby girl into their lives. Sharing a beautiful family picture with Tara in the frame, Mandira had written, "She has come to us. Like a blessing from above. Our little girl, Tara. Four years and a bit with eyes that sparkle like stars. Sister to her Vir. Welcoming her home with open arms and pure love. Grateful, thankful. Blessed. Tara Bedi Kaushal became a part of our family on 28th July 2020."

Ever since the arrival of Tara, Mandira has been sharing glimpses of her happy family of four. But a few days back, some trollers had targeted Tara, calling her a ‘street kid’ from a ‘slumdog centre’ which had irked Mandira. The hands-on mommy had made sure to shut the trolls by hitting back at them. In an interview with The Times of India, Mandira talked about trollers and said, “I have faced trolling from the time I have been on social media. Initially, I used to respond to negative comments, but I realised I was giving these haters what they were seeking — attention.”

Mandira also revealed how she doesn’t care about the negative comments on her but when the trolls target her kids, she can’t stay calm. In her words, “I don’t make statements, I am not rude, and I have never used social media to attack people or to make points. I use it to spread positivity. I don’t know what struck me that I went through the comments on this one photograph of my family. It was appalling to see those nasty comments for a little child. What kind of people say such disgusting things about a harmless kid? While I normally ignore trolls and haters, these two-three messages that I saw late at night on Monday upset me, and this time, I felt the need to respond. Tara is innocent and too young to understand what happened, but it hurt me. I don’t give two hoots about nasty comments. I can laugh over them when they are about me but it’s not okay to attack my family, my children. I can’t take it. My claws will come out.”

On April 14, 2021, Mandira had taken to her IG stories and had posted a screenshot of the comment by one of the users on her family picture, in which he had written, “Madam from which slumdog centre did you adopt your prop daughter?” Mandira had bashed the troller and had responded, “People like this need to be given a special mention @bollywoodforevaa. You got my attention, you piece of s**t.”

She had then shared another screenshot of the same user, messaging her and targeting her daughter, Tara. The message could be read as “The adopted street kid looks completely out of place…u greedy narcissists are scarring the slumdog for life.” To this, Mandira had given a savage reply and had written, “More from the model citizen. He calls himself Rajesh Tripathi, which definitely isn’t his name, because sickos like this are the biggest cowards too, who only know how to wag their tongues behind the shield of anonymity” atop the screenshot shared on her IG stories.
