Manisha Koirala recalls the one special gesture of SRK which made her admire him more

Having been in the film industry for so long, Manisha Koirala has interacted with several kinds of people, and collaborated with a number of celebrities, both big and small. However, it has always been Shah Rukh Khan, whom she has admired the most. For the unversed, the duo starred together in the unforgettable film, Dil Se. In a recent interaction with Netflix, Manisha remembered the one humble gesture of SRK, which made her admire him even more. In her words:

“What I really liked about Shah Rukh even back then, despite being a big star, he would have his tea sitting on the floor. I really admire that no matter how big a star you are, you are not flying, you are rooted.”

Manisha revealed she refused a film with Madhuri Dixit out of sheer insecurity

In an interaction with India Today, Manisha Koirala for the first time, opened up about her insecurity against her contemporary actors. The diva revealed that she refused to be a part of Yash Chopra’s film starring Madhuri Dixit, purely out of insecurity. Adding how she got scared to be pitted against such a brilliant actress, Manisha expressed:

“One of the regrets that I have in my career is that I didn’t do Yash Chopra’s film. I was pitted against Madhuri ji (Dixit), and I got scared. I backed out of that project.”

Manisha Koirala confessed she was once about to refuse Mani Ratnam’s Bombay

Another of Manisha Koirala’s iconic films was the 1995-released, Bombay, helmed by Mani Ratnam. She was the leading lady opposite Tollywood hero, Arvind Swamy. Previously, while speaking to the YouTube channel, O2 India, the actress shared how she was on the verge of refusing Mani Ratnam’s offer for the film, since she was apprehensive about pulling off the role of a mother on-screen back then. Calling herself not wise enough, Manisha added:

“I was not wise back then. I remember I got an offer of Bombay. I had heard the music, but I had not seen Roja. But I knew that Roja is a big hit. But when I was asked to do Bombay, I was a little apprehensive. I was not wise back then. So there were a lot of norms in Bollywood in those days. Like a heroine cannot do a mother’s role, otherwise a heroine will be typecast forever as a mother. And I used to listen to those things because those are the people who come and tell you that.”

When Manisha recalled being called a bad actor by one of her filmmakers

In one of her older interactions with Pinkvilla, Manisha Koirala spoke about an unheard incident from her life, where she was blatantly called out to be a bad actor by the filmmaker, Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
