Manmohan Singh, Former PM Of India, Passes Away At 92, He Was Admitted In Critical Condition

The former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, passed away at AIIMS in Delhi. He was brought to the hospital in a critical condition.

Dr. Manmohan Singh was the most important person in the history of Indian politics. He was the Prime Minister of India before Narendra Modi in the Congress-elected government. However, at the age of 92, Manmohan Singh left for his heavenly abode on December 26, 2024. His sudden demise had brought tears in the eyes of his countrymen, who always remembered his yogdaan for the independent India.

Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92

For the unversed, Manmohan Singh was admitted to the AIIMS hospital in Delhi after his health condition deteriorated. It was Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's husband, Robert Vadra expressed his condolences. He wrote in a post on X:

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Thank you for your service to our Nation. You will always be remembered for your Economic revolution and the progressive changes, you brought to the country."

Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt condolence on Manmohan Singh's demise

Narendra Modi also took to his social media handle, X, and shared a heartfelt note on Manmohan Singh's death. Mr. Modi revealed how he was the most respected economist and served the country as a Finance Minister. His tweet can be read as:

"India mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished leaders, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Rising from humble origins, he rose to become a respected economist. He served in various government positions as well, including as Finance Minister, leaving a strong imprint on our economic policy over the years. His interventions in Parliament were also insightful. As our Prime Minister, he made extensive efforts to improve people’s lives."
