Manoj Bajpayee bought his dream house in 2007 in Andheri

In 2007, Padma Shri awardee, Manoj Bajpayee had purchased his dream home in the Oberoi Towers located in Suburban Andheri, Mumbai. In a joint interview with Filmfare back in 2014, Manoj and his wife, Shabana Raza, had shared every minor detail about their plush home.

From opening up about every single artefact, they've installed in their apartment to recalling all the customisation they've done in various parts of their dream house. According to reports, the estimated price of Manoj Bajpayee's home in Andheri is reportedly around Rs. 10 crores.

When Manoj Bajpayee's wife, Shabana Raza, ignited her inner-interior designer

In the joint interview with Filmfare, when Manoj Bajpayee was asked about the interior designers he had gone for after purchasing his Andheri house, the actor had given an astonishing answer. He had revealed that he and his wife, Shabana Raza, had communicated with many renowned interior designers, but they didn't feel satisfied with any of them. After which, Shabana had come forward and had decided to do everything by herself right from scratch. Manoj had said:

"We consulted many interior designers but weren't satisfied with anyone. So Shabana decided to do it herself. She kept their basic designs in mind but applied her own aesthetics. Everything was instinctive."

Manoj Bajpayee's home is a museum of Mauritian paintings

Going further in the interview, Manoj Bajpayee had opened up about his and his wife, Shabana Raza's shared love for the Mauritian paintings. The actor had revealed that during their honeymoon in Mauritius, he and Shabana had fallen in love with Mauritian paintings. However, Manoj and Shabana have also installed some beautiful paintings by renowned Indian painters like Chintan Upadhyay. He had said:

"Like we both love paintings and were so impressed with the works of Mauritian painters Baissac and Yves David while vacationing in Mauritius that we invested in their art. Then there are paintings by Indian artists like Chintan Upadhyay as well."

Shabana Raza on husband, Manoj Bajpayee's love for wooden flooring

In the same interview, Shabana Raza was enquired about her journey and the kind of challenges she and her husband, Manoj Bajpayee, had faced while designing their dream house. Shabana had also added that Manoj is a huge lover of wooden flooring, but it wasn't practical for them to have it because of multiple reasons. Revealing the alternative they had gone for instead of wooden flooring, Shabana had also added that it had taken almost two years to build their dream house. She had said:

"I did the leg work but always took his consent before incorporating even light fixtures. We wanted some decorative wall clocks. Manoj and I spent eons roaming the market to get just the right product. Also, Manoj wanted wooden flooring. We realised it's not practical. So we went for a combination of stone and wood. It took nearly two years to do up this house because the wood work went on and on."

Moving forward towards the seating arrangement, Manoj Bajpayee had revealed that he had contacted a designer in Delhi for the furniture. Praising the designer for his unique designs and craft, Manoj had opened up about his sofa set and had said that the unique thing about it is that its legs are made up of silver. The actor had stated:

"The other thing that took a lot of effort was seating. We finally got in touch with this designer in Delhi who makes awesome personalised furniture. If you see the sofa, carefully, you'll notice its legs are made of silver. That makes it unique."

Manoj Bajpayee's den is all about beers and classic movies

Going further in the interview, Shabana Raza had also shared some details about the den room of their sweet home and had stated that they've gone for semicircular seating in the room.

Revealing the reason behind it, the gorgeous diva had added that her darling husband, Manoj Bajpayee, had transformed it into a mini multiplex. From a projector, some beer to classic movies from the world, Manoj's den room is a perfect place to chill out. Sharing details of the same, she had added:

"We decided to have semicircular seating in the den because Manoj wanted a projector there. The idea was to sit back, knock some beers down and enjoy movies with your friends. He has a good collection of world classics, which we have lined-up here."

Manoj Bajpayee doesn't have a TV in his bedroom for this reason

Over the years, Manoj Bajpayee has surprised and inspired people because of his film choices and the way he has lived his life so far. Once again, the actor had shared a surprising fact about his bedroom, as he had revealed that he had not placed a TV inside their sleeping room. Emphasising on the importance of 'body clock', Manoj had shared details about his 'TV-free bedroom' and had said:

"We decided to keep the bedroom a TV free zone. One tends to watch too much late night TV otherwise and that disturbs the body clock."

When Shaban Raza was asked about her and her husband, Manoj Bajpayee's decision to keep their bedroom free from TV, the doting wife had revealed that both she and her husband are bookworms.

Opening up about their love for books, Shabana had added that she and Manoj prefer to end their day with some good books instead of watching television. Also, she had revealed that they have installed a big library in their home that has precious books. She had explained:

"We are avid readers so you'll find books lying around in the bedroom instead. We have a well-stocked library in the house. Manoj likes Hindi authors like Premchand and Vijaydan Detha while I devour English and world classics. I'm currently re-reading Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy) these days."

Moving forward in Manoj Bajpayee's home tour, the actor had talked about his daughter, Ava Nayla's room and had revealed that he and his wife, Shabana Raza, had built her room completely 'child-proof'.

When the actor was asked to share details about Ava's room, the doting dad had explained that he and his wife had installed cushioned flooring in her room, filled with her favourite toys. He had revealed:

"Our daughter Ava Nayla's room was our pad before she arrived. We had kept a TV and a sofa-cum-bed there. But she started jumping on it so we got rid of it and redecorated her room. We have made it child-proof and even have cushioned flooring so she doesn't hurt herself. She can jump now to her heart's content. And it's full of her favourite toys as well."

In the same interview, moving towards the kitchen area, Shabana Raza had heaped immense praise on her husband, Manoj Bajpayee, as she had called him a 'fabulous cook'. She had also added that the kitchen is her and Manoj's common domain, and they never miss a chance to keep their kitchen area clean and well-placed.

Sharing details about the customisation they have done in the kitchen, Shabana had revealed:

"The kitchen isn't just my domain as Manoj too is a fabulous cook. We went for all the modern frills and kept a minimalistic theme. It's always squeaky clean and you won't find anything out of place."

In many of his interviews, Manoj Bajpayee has revealed that he is a massive believer of the traditional Indian architecture system, Vaastu Shastra. When the actor was enquired whether he had used Vaastu Shastra in his home, answering this, Manoj had replied that he was in touch with a Vaastu expert. He had revealed that he had installed his temple and trophy area according to the Vaastu Shastra and had added that they're always illuminated. Manoj had explained:

"We believe in vaastu and consulted a vaastu expert for everything. Everyone says that they experience positive vibes at our place. We both like to pray. So I insisted on a small temple near the entrance. Then, another corner is devoted to showcasing my trophies. They are so displayed that natural light falls on them during the day while there is a special arrangement at night. They are always illuminated."

At the end of the interview, Shabana Raza was asked to share some details about her and her husband, Manoj Bajpayee's temple, in their house. The doting wife had revealed that she and Manoj are spiritual, and their temple is a shrine that is a home of different religions. Sharing more details about the same, Shabana had also added that she and Manoj had organised a havan and reading of the Holy Quran, Bible, and Guru Granth Sahib. She had explained:

"We come from different faiths and our temple is a shrine, which respects every religion. We are both spiritual and even when we moved in; we had a havan, a reading of the Holy Quran and of the Guru Granth Sahib and Bible as well. All this infused the house with positive energy."
