Masaba Gupta first time revealed how people often give her unneeded advice for her soon-to-be baby's skin colour.
Famous fashion designer, Masaba Gupta is all set to welcome her first child with her husband, Satyadeep Mishra. The gorgeousness is super active, attending events and flaunting her fully grown baby bump. Recently, Masaba shared her heart out in a podcast with Faye D'Souza. She talked about her life so far, from her professional highs to her personal lows. During one segment, Masaba revealed how she received shocking advice from her masseuse for her baby's skin tone.
While talking about receiving mean comments related to her skintone, Masaba revealed she still hears something or the other related to her skin colour. The mommy-to-be shared that recently, she was getting her prenatal massage, and the masseuse told her to eat 'rasgulla' as her baby should have lighter skin tone than her. Masaba shared:
"It happened to me yesterday where I had somebody coming for some prenatal-something, and she said, 'You know you must eat a rasgulla everyday because your kid has to turn out lighter than you.'"
Not only this, Masaba shared another incident when some other masseuse told her to drink a cup of milk every day. The famous fashion designer added that the person highlighted the fact that the baby should not be 'sawali'. She said:
"And then 15 days before that I was getting another prenatal massage, and she said to me that 'Ap na dudh liya karo, Sawali nahi honi chahiye, sawala nahi hona chaihye.'"
In the same interview, Masaba shared how people comment and compare her to Om Puri. Expressing her anger, Masaba shared that people do not have right to comment on Om Puri's features except his acting talent. She shared that there are only some who see the texture and acne on a person's face, and it is the reason why she keeps on working hard to shut people by being successful. She said:
"Someone said, ‘But what are you doing with a makeup brand, you have skin like Om Puri.’ What business does anyone have to talk about anything except Om Puri’s acting talent? Sometimes, all that people see is textured skin or acne scars on you. Which is why I have to keep doing more, being more successful. That’s my fight. Hopefully, 10 years later, someone will say they could see beyond my scars."
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar Magazine, Masaba Gupta talked about her pregnancy journey. She shared that after crossing the age of 32, she had a lot of societal pressure to find the right guy and secure her maternal future.
