Pakistani actress, Mawra Hocane and her now-husband, Ameer Gilani, are setting major wedding goals with their vibrant and love-filled pre-wedding festivities. The duo tied the knot on February 5, 2025, in a traditional Muslim wedding in Lahore. After dreamy photos from their love-filled nikah, walima and other wedding ceremonies, the couple’s Dholki celebrations have now taken social media by storm, with Mawra sharing glimpses of the joyous event on Instagram.
Mawra Hocane has been dropping glimpses of her fun-filled pre-wedding festivities on her social media, and in every look, she looked breathtakingly gorgeous. Taking to her IG handle, the Sanam Teri Kasam star a carousel of photos from her ‘Dholki no. 1’. For the uninitiated, the Dholki or Dholak night is a pre-wedding celebration common in the regions of Punjab and Pakistan. It is generally held a week or two before the main wedding and involves a whole lot of merry-making, including singing, dancing and playing the dhol.
For the celebrations, the bride, Mawra looked breathtaking in a red velvet Anarkali kurta with gold piping, paired with a matching dupatta featuring an elegant gold border. To complete the traditional look, she adorned green bangles for a striking contrast and wore floral jewellery on her wrists, ears, and as a stunning maang tikka, all made from red and white flowers.
Meanwhile, Mawra’s now-husband, Ameer Gilanni kept it classic in a cream kurta-pyjama, complemented by a rust-orange jacket. Sharing the heartfelt moments from the celebration on her Instagram, Mawra wrote:
“Sharing happiness in reverse// Dholki no.1. Sherry Berry Thankyouuuuu so muchhhh for everything!!! We loooove uuuuu… couldn’t have been a better start to our festivities ALHUMDULILLAH. Before this, Mawra also treated her followers to another set of heartwarming clicks from a Dholki night hosted by her best friend, actress, Ramsha Khan. The evening was nothing short of magical, filled with laughter, dance, and heartfelt moments.
For this celebration, Mawra opted for an elegant green-pistachio ensemble, perfectly complemented by delicate floral jewellery, making her look ethereal. Ameer, on the other hand, made a dapper statement in a white salwar kameez, paired with a printed shawl. Sharing the love and laughter-filled moments on her IG, Mawra penned an emotional note that read:
“Ramshaaaaa we love uuuu & your fammm so much & you know it!!!!!! Thank you for this super sweet celebration, we danced till 2 in the morning and it still wasn’t enough!!!! So so grateful for the best bunch of humans celebrating us!!!! ALHUMDULILLAH.”

Mawra and Ameer’s acquaintance dates back to their university days when their paths crossed for the first time and Ameer had paid for her water bottle. Years later, the two actors came face to face once again when they worked together in the Pakistani dramas, Sabaat and Neem, and their on-screen chemistry was unmissable.
