Yash and Megha’s love story started last year during the lockdown when their families introduced them to each other through sneaky match-making. Soon, the two started their romantic phase of the meet-cute and it took some time for them to figure things out. Love happened over the due course of meeting each other every day. Yash’s family stays in Bombay, so he introduced Megha to his family when he came home. That sealed the deal for them.

Being a wedding photographer, Megha was obvious that her reason for getting married would be the boy, his family, and their feelings for each other. So, to make her decision, Megha took some time and finally decided to marry Yash for the right reasons of falling in love. They had a luxurious wedding, and the pictures are worth taking a look at.

The Roka ceremony

The couple had their Roka ceremony at Estella on November 7, last year. It was just a small family dinner planned for both the families, and that’s how they made it official that they were taken. They didn’t want to go beyond 3 to 4 months because to start living together was their top priority. So, without any assistance from anybody, the couple decided to get married in March as it was an off-season for the wedding industry.

The mid-air proposal

Megha did not expect a proposal from Yash. She always felt that a proposal was super cliche, and she never wanted one. She never had the big aspirations that every girl has. However, in February, when she was flying to Delhi to pick her wedding lehenga, Yash flew down on the same flight and surprised her with a mid-air proposal. It so happened that the flight had taken off, with no idea about Yash being with her on the same flight, Megha was sleeping. And all of a sudden, Yash surprised her and proposed to her with a ring in his hand. Their adorable video is doing rounds on the internet, and you cannot miss it.

The wedding functions

Megha always had an aspiration of the kind of wedding that she wanted. After doing 700 weddings for the whole world and capturing love stories, she knew what she wanted for herself. So, the couple organised multiple functions and celebrated each function with minimal people.

With intimate people, the functions started with a Bhajan sandhya, followed by the at-home mehendi. Then they had mehendi, a haldi ceremony and finally, the wedding. However, their sangeet night was planned after the wedding so that everyone could enjoy it to the fullest without the stress of waking up the next morning. And with Megha in the driving seat, she drove it however she wanted to do it. Most of all, with no leverage from Yash, it became effortless for her to manage.

Bhajan sandhya

The wedding kickstarted with the first ceremony, Bhajan sandhya. On this occasion, Megha had donned a gorgeous blue sharara, paired with a stylish blouse while Yash flaunted his simplicity in a white kurta with mirror work.

The two mehendi ceremonies

Interestingly, the out-of-the-box couple had two mehendi celebrations, one at home and another at Grand Hyatt. The bride-to-be got her mehendi done at the first mehendi ceremony at her home, where she had dressed up in a yellow top paired with a floral skirt by Azuli By Nikki. Moreover, her house looked endearing with 'pastel floral and greens' decor.

However, the main mehendi function at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai was gorgeous and lively. With colourful decor and rustic floral accents, the venue looked stunning. Megha had opted for a beautiful single shoulder pink gown for this function while her fiance, Yash, had dressed up in an off-white kurta-pyjama paired with a matching Nehru jacket.

Haldi ceremony

For their haldi ceremony, from the decor to theme to attires, the couple had everything yellow. The venue was beautifully decorated with marigolds and rajnigandhas, along with some yellow drapes. The bride-to-be looked mesmerising in her yellow bandhani lehenga, accessorised with floral jewellery and diamond neckpiece with matching earrings. On the other hand, Yash looked handsome in a yellow kurta-pyjama along with a yellow Nehru jacket. Their happiness is perfectly captured in their wedding photographs, and the inspiring decor is breathtaking.

The grand wedding

Our photographer bride, Megha Israni, the founder of Israni Photography, tied the knot with her prince charming, Yash Bhatia, at Hyatt Regency, Mumbai. Megha looked no less than a dream in her wedding attire. She had chosen Abhinav Mishra's golden lehenga with mirror work and jewels, which she paired with a minimal yet beautiful blouse. In addition, she accentuated her look with her hair tied in a perfect floral bun and minimal makeup. On the other hand, the groom had paired a mint green sherwani with a golden safa and green emerald neckpiece.

To reflect her personality, Megha chose the venue to be fully covered in whites. As a result, from dreamy white Mandap to white floral decor to chairs decorated with white drapes, everything had looked elegant. Moreover, the decor was gracefully done in white roses and green leaves, and the pictures were stunning. The minimal yet classy decor helped the couple to outstand in the crowd.

The Sangeet night

The sangeet night was the most memorable event of their wedding. But, of course, we couldn’t take our eyes off our bride, who had dolled up in a deep red lehenga with ruffles. She had opted for minimal makeup and loose wavy tresses. On the other hand, Yash had looked dapper in a black tuxedo and a crisp white shirt to complement his wife’s attire.

Moreover, the stunning decor in silver, purple and blue, the lively music, and the energetic dance performances were a cherry on the cake.
