It was on August 26, 2016, when Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had welcomed their 'sunshine', Misha Kapoor. And since September 07, 2018, little Misha has been enjoying the joy of being a ‘big sister’ as the family of three was visited by a stork with their bundle of joy wrapped in a blanket, whom they have named Zain Kapoor. Even during her pregnancy and soon after delivering her little ones, Mira maintained her fit-self and enjoys her journey of wellness and fitness. From her workout regimes, yoga sessions to healthy diets, Mira is all about wellness.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Mira Rajput Kapoor talked about how she is keeping her little ones, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor healthy in the winter season, the techniques she swears by which her mom, Bela Rajput and mother-in-law, Neliima Azeem follow, and curbing the sweet cravings of her kids in this season. To begin with, Mira revealed how she started to inculcate natural remedies with Misha and Zain right from the time when they were really young, “Health is Wealth - I believe in that. Good health enables you to do everything better. Right from the time my kids were little, I gave them things like amla juice and haldi doodh regularly and we started all this when they were really young. So, my advice to all mothers would be to inculcate natural remedies that you may have and those that our moms have taught us. Also adapt your meal plans according to the season which is always healthy and fresh, giving you and your kids the right nutrition needed to fight common illness during a particular season.”
Speaking of how she follows the traditional home remedies passed on through generations by her mom and mother-in-law in her own lifestyle, Mira Rajput Kapoor continued, “It’s always great to go back to your roots and follow those traditional home remedies passed on through generations. I love them and even today imbibe my mother and mother-in-law’s teachings in our lifestyle especially during winters when health needs double the care. One such nuska is practising steam inhalation with Vicks Vaporub. Even if we have had a slight cough and cold symptoms, mom advises us to mix 1-2 teaspoons of Vicks Vaporub in hot water and inhale the steam infused with natural ingredients. This traditional method soothes my cold and cough symptoms. Along with this, I also include the traditional practice of drinking warm Haldi doodh before bed. Warm milk by the end of the day always helps our body to calm down and sleep peacefully. The condiment also has antiviral and antibacterial properties which boost immunity, a needed measure to manage respiratory health in winters.” (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Gets Pampered By 'Saasu Ma' Neliima Azeem As She Makes 'Chai And Pakoras' For Her)
When asked whether ice-creams are allowed in her house in winters and if not, then what substitute she uses to curb Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor’s sweet cravings, Mira Rajput Kapoor retorted, “Winter does come with festivities and some fun days, therefore I don’t restrict them completely from having ice cream and let them indulge in the same every once a while. But more than ice cream, I indulge their sweet teeth in homemade gajar ka halwa or a hot chocolate or even a homemade cake but I do prefer making whatever I can at home and sometimes even make it into an activity for the kids. I also believe indulgence is good but with a touch of healthy ingredients, like adding a pinch of cinnamon in our hot chocolate and replacing sugar with jaggery. A small change can go a long way!”
A few weeks ago, Mira Rajput Kapoor had proudly posted two pictures of the cake, made by her ‘copycat’ little one, Misha Kapoor. Revealing how little Misha has been observing her mom keenly and following her footsteps in the kitchen, Mira had captioned her post as "Baked, iced, clicked and eaten by Missy. I think she’s watching me a bit too keenly and I better be careful #copycat #goodolchocolatecake." The cake bakes by Misha had looked freshly baked, iced with chocolate and sweet sprinkles.
