Do you know, right after their daughter, Misha Kapoor’s birth, Shahid Kapoor had apologised to Mira Rajput Kapoor’s father? In an interview with Filmfare, Shahid had revealed, “I was both ecstatic and scared. I began thinking of Mira's father and how he must have felt when he gave away his baby, his daughter to this strange guy, an actor from Mumbai with a ponytail and coloured hair, who perhaps thought he was a 'cool dude'.” Shahid Kapoor had further stated, “I called him up instantly and apologised if I had troubled him at any point. I may have overlooked his point of view somewhere, regarding something which may have been important to him, this realisation came when I held a baby girl in my hands when I felt vulnerable. I don't want anything to go wrong with her ever. I guess, being a man I always thought of as a man. But holding a baby girl gave me a new perspective. It changes everything.” Coming back to the superstar father himself, Shahid Kapoor had talked about fatherhood and having children. He had shared, "I think having a child makes you re-look at everything. Over the years you get used to things…The minute you have a child, the parent within you jumps out and you feel protective and want to give them the best life.” The Kabir Singh actor had also added in another interview, "I hope that I’m a good influence (on my children). I hope I’m not stuck up and can allow them to fly. They have their own identity and destiny… Your job is to be there when they need you, that’s it.” (Must Read: Sara Ali Khan Shares A Series Of Childhood Pictures With Daddy, Saif Ali Khan On Father's Day) Do you know, Shahid Kapoor's wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor often tells her to calm down a bit? The star father himself had revealed the reason in an interview and had stated, "My wife (Mira) tells me that I am a little obsessive and protective and that I need to calm down a little bit. I tell her that she is too casual. If both are too obsessive or both are too careless I don’t think that works, so you need to find that balance.” He had also spoken about fatherhood and had shared, "Fatherhood has brought a lot of change in me as a person and as a human being. My priorities have changed. I am less self-oriented now, because I believe actors can never be not self-oriented.” How did you make your dad feel special on this important day? Let us know!
