“Who is this new person?”, “How do I fit into the picture now?”, “Will this baby replace me?” – these are some thoughts that goes in the mind of every older sibling when there’s an addition of a new baby in the family. Just when the first child is on the verge to understand what being ‘me’ is, they now have to understand the role of a big brother/sister. Though we don’t know if this exactly were the thoughts of Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor’s two-year-old daughter, Misha Kapoor, what we can decipher is she is enjoying every bit of being a ‘big sister’ to her baby brother, Zain Kapoor. It was on April 20, 2018, when the ecstatic second time parents-to-be, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had taken to their Instagram handles and had shared a picture of an all-elated Misha Kapoor, who was lying on a blackboard with colourful chalked balloons over her with the words “Big Sister” written on it. And seems like just yesterday when Shahid and Mira along with their little ones, Misha and Zain had posed for their first family picture while leaving the hospital.
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor often share glimpses of their family life on social media and delight their fans with pictures of their little munchkins, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor. And June 5, 2019, is no different. A few hours back, Mira treated her fans with not one, but three pictures of Misha and Zain, followed by the cute banter between them as her caption. Here’s what she wrote, “1. Z: “Oh cool can I play with that flower” 2. M: “Ya let me help you hold it” 3. M: “MOM HE JUST PINCHED ME”.” While Misha can be seen in a blue and white striped dress, baby Zain looked cute as a button in a blue and white checkered shirt.
In February 2019, Mira Rajput Kapoor had interacted with her fans through an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Instagram which allowed users to ask her questions. And it was then when a follower asked her “How did you prepare Misha for a sibling?” and the mommy had given a hands-on answer. Revealing all the secrets and which song ‘big sister’ Misha sings for her baby brother, the doting mommy had shared, “We spoke to her about it a lot. Read a lot of story books to her (Topsy and Tim and the New Baby became a favourite of hers), and let her feel a part of the process even till now! Help around, bring mom a glass of water or sing wheels on the bus to Zain if he’s crying. A few months back, Mira Rajput Kapoor had shared that because they have a toddler around this time, they don’t want her to feel neglected with the arrival of the second born. She had said, "This time I already have a toddler around and keeping a balance between the one you have and the one that's on its way is very important. Everything changes, and you don't want that the one who has been the apple of your eyes for so long and feels that she's the centre of your world to feel neglected and ignored. That is very important.”
A few days ago, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor along with their two sunshine, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor were vacationing in Phuket, Thailand. The doting mommy had shared a twinning picture of her babies, Misha and Zain gazing the sea and enjoying the view in their super-cute beachwear.
