It was in August 2023 when Mithila Palakar purchased a beautiful adobe in Dadar, Mumbai. The actress was all over the news, as the pictures of her brand-new abode left everyone stunned. The stunning diva opted for a Japandi-style theme, and one look at the pictures made people fall in love with her lovely house. Thus, when it came down to designing her first home, Mithila straightforwardly called her close friend, Rutuja, who is a designer at Studio Bloom.
When Rutuja Tulsulkar took the job of designing her decade-long friend, Mithila Palkar’s Mumbai home, both of them knew that working professionally on a project could hamper their bond too. Luckily, it didn’t go downhill in their case, as Mithila and Rutuja respected each other’s opinions. Also, Rutuja knew Mithila’s likes and dislikes, courtesy of their years of friendship, which made her job quite easy. The entire project brought Mithila and Rutuja closer and deepened their bond.

A light wooden door with soft curves and a minimalist design welcomes the guests into Mithila Palkar’s luxurious Dadar home. As they enter her cute and cosy space, it’s the warm rust-hued couch and plaster-textured oval coffee table which grab everyone’s attention. It’s impossible not to compliment the textured rug from the iconic brand, The Weaver, which compliments the mesmerising furniture from Studio Bloom.
A rattan seat can also be spotted near the windows, which can be used to lounge for a cup of tea. In the pictures, behind the seat, the bird of paradise plant can be visible, which is another beautiful thing about Mithila’s living space. The minimalist design of the entire house is a treat to the eyes. Well, a television hangs up on the wall, opposite the couch and perfectly positioned atop an oak-toned wooden TV unit.

The way Mithila Palkar and her interior designer friend, Rutuja Tulsulkar have managed to turn this small and cosy apartment into a beautiful home deserves a lot of cheers and whistles.
A small lobby connects the living room with the kitchen. While walking towards the kitchen, one can find a series of memorable pictures on the right-hand side wall. Every frame speaks volumes of the love and care Mithila hold in her heart for her loved ones.
The kitchen of Mithila Palkar’s new home is elegant, spacious and a sight to behold. The reason behind it is the beige cupboards, white countertops and a beautiful breakfast counter whose look was enhanced with the introduction of oak-toned rattan bar chairs. However, the kitchen area's most creative thing must be the overhead greens atop the breakfast counter, which look simply unmissable.
Moving on to Mithila Palkar’s bedroom, it features a mesmerising tropical wallpaper. While the bedroom exudes charm and tranquillity, oak-toned side tables, along with the cupboards, are nothing less than visual poetry. A pull-out mirror also presents a reference to the modern functionality of the house.
Mithila Palkar’s apartment also has a guest room, and it features a monochromatic design, a bit different from the rest of the space. From a grey-hued pull-out bed for the guests to relax on, it also features a unique lamp with three bulbs, big windows for a perfect view of the Mumbai city and a black aesthetic coffee table.
