Pakistani actor, Adnan Siddiqui, who has acted both in Indian and Hollywood films, recently, in a podcast, accused Hollywood and 'Cannes' authorities of unequal treatment.
Adnan Siddiqui is an acclaimed Pakistani actor who has not only been a part of numerous Pakistani projects but has also been a part of Hollywood endeavours and Indian films. Adnan debuted in Bollywood in 2017, opposite elite Indian actors, Sridevi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the thriller movie, Mom. In 2007, Adnan Siddiqui was also a part of the Hollywood film, A Mighty Heart, where he was cast opposite industry biggies, Angelina Jolie, Dan Flutterman, Irfan Khan and Archie Panjabi.
His Hollywood endeavour, A Mighty Heart, was even called to the Cannes Film Festival for honorary and was even screened there before being ruled out of competition. The movie was also released in North America, which resulted in its cast's regular visits to the States for promotional activities. Shedding light on his experiences, Adnan Siddiqui revealed that he was not treated equally.

Adnan Siddiqui stayed in the West for two months for the shoot of his film, A Mighty Heart. He revealed that as he was a Pakistani and not that famous of an actor, he was not treated equally on the set and in terms of the production facilities. Adnan added that Angelina Jolie was given an entire floor in the hotel to stay by the production, where others were allowed to go. He also said that she was not what he expected appearance-wise. However, their kids became fast friends and used to play together.
Adnan Siddiqui further revealed that when the film was called in the Cannes Film Festival, he was given the option to either have his stay in the States financially covered or the tickets to the festival. This mistreatment annoyed him, and he coerced the production to cover for both, and they had to agree reluctantly.

Adnan Siddiqui played an impactful role in the film, Mom alongside his fellow country mate, Sajal Ali and Bollywood biggie, Sridevi. He divulged that working with Bollywood stars was a pleasant experience, but the India-Pakistan political situation affected the pleasantry. He and Sajal were scheduled to promote the film in several Indian states, but he could not cause of the rising tension and also could not attend the film's international promotion campaigns for the same reason.
Adnan shortly addressed that both countries' creative and cultural aspects should be given a free pass, and it benefits artists from both countries and allows them to grow. Adnan also appreciated India's warm hospitality and wishes to work here again.
