While many newlywed television celebs will be celebrating their first Karwa Chauth, there are others too, who were seen in their traditional best on this festival. One such television star is Nazar fame actress, Monalisa, who got married to her longtime beau Vikrant Singh on Bigg Boss 10 in front of the entire nation.
Monalisa got married to her longtime beau Vikrant Singh on January 19, 2017, in the show. Although there were rumours that the marriage was a Bigg Boss contract but Monalisa refuted the rumours and had said that the stories were just baseless. Monalisa and Vikrant have completed more than two years of their marital bliss and Monalisa recently shared a picture on her Instagram handle with hubby, Vikrant. She also added a picture on her Instagram stories of her mehendi clad hands on her third Karwa Chauth. She was seen breathtaking in a yellow saree and a halter neck blouse. She accentuated her look with a maroon lipstick, sindoor and bindi and teamed up her saree with matching gold jewellery. Her husband was seen wearing a maroon kurta. Monalisa captioned the picture as "Happy Karwa Chauth."
Talking about her love story with Vikrant in an interview, Monalisa had shared, "Vikrant and I have been planning to get married for a long time but some reason, it didn't fall into place. Even our family members were keen that we get married. The way I got married on the show was a big surprise for me too. Vikrant consulted my parents and then decided to propose to me on the show. For any girl, marriage is a big thing and it's a special day. I can never think of faking it for the show. It hurts when people say things like the wedding was scripted or done for TRPs. If I didn't get married on the show, I would have gotten married after four-five months anyway. I am happy to have got married on a TV show with the entire nation witnessing it."
She had further stated, "We are in a serious relationship for the past last eight years. We fell in love with each other during a Bhojpuri film in 2008. Since then, we have been living like husband and wife. The only difference was that I was not wearing a mangalsutrra and sindoor before. If we had to end our relationship, it would have happened by now." (Also Read: Sunny Leone Poses For A Fun Photoshoot With Mom-In-Law And Hubby, Daniel, He Writes A Heartfelt Note)
Later, in an interview with a leading tabloid, Monalisa had shared an interesting thing about her married life and had revealed, “Vikrant and I were anyway thinking about getting married. I am from Kolkata, he is from UP and both of us are part of the Bhojpuri film industry. So, we had to take into consideration all the three places — where to get married and hold the reception. Yet, I never thought I will get married like this! I was overwhelmed when Vikrant proposed to me. He decided everything in consultation with my parents.”
In an interview, Monalisa had clarified that her marriage wasn't a gimmick, and had said, "It’s painful to see that people still think that our marriage is fake. It isn’t. For any girl, marriage is a big thing. We were planning to get married, but things were just not falling in place."
In a previous interview, Monalisa had also talked about getting married inside Bigg Boss house and had quoted, “We have been with each other for so many years that we were already like husband and wife. Sirf social stamp nahi tha. So, getting married in the house is not going to make any difference. We will always be together.” (Also Read: Yuvika Chaudhary Receives 'Sargi' On Karwa Chauth From Prince Narula's Mother, Asha Narula)
