#1. Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu

The relationship status of these lovebirds always remained one of the hottest topics of discussion in the tinsel town till one day they gave a happy surprise to all their fans with an official announcement of their marriage. After that, the world got to see their wedding card which was quite unusual and interesting. The two got a photo shoot done for their invite in which they recreated the look of a Catholic wedding. Ravishing Bipasha was dressed in a beautiful white gown and Karan looked suave in a black tuxedo. And here are a few pictures of their invite shared by their fan club on Instagram:

#2. Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput

Putting an end to all the speculations about the actual date, Bollywood heartthrob, Shahid Kapoor and his fiancée, Mira Rajput’s wedding invite finally revealed it all. The invitation card of this gorgeous clearly showed their wedding date, which was July 7, 2015. The card was designed by a Delhi-based designer, Ravish Kapoor, keeping in mind the brief given to him by Shahid himself, which was, ‘simple yet elegant’.

The wedding invite was in the combination of cream and turquoise colour and had just a few hints of gold in it. Enclosed in a box of the same colour, the invite was accompanied by tea and honey for the invitees, all of which were made in India. In fact, Shahid himself paid close attention to every detail from the font to how the items will be placed in the box. And yes, we totally love the peacock design on the box too.

#3. Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu

The nawabi princess, Soha Ali Khan, and her beau, Kunal Khemu, had made it clear before the D-day that their wedding would be a low-key affair. And, keeping simplicity as the mantra of their entire celebrations, they had an understated yet graceful wedding invite.

The wedding card had pink and gold roses printed on it, which symbolised their immortal love for each other. Wrapped in a gold bow, the card had Soha and Kunal’s name written on it, in a heart-shaped wreath. The wedding date of the two love birds was also written in the same wreath. The couple took the wedding vows on January 25, 2015.

#4. Pulkit Samrat and Shweta Rohira

Fukrey actor, Pulkit Samrat, married his long-time girlfriend, Shweta Rohira, in a lavish destination wedding at Goa. As the two turned their beautiful love story into a happily-ever-after with a dreamlike wedding, they made sure that even their wedding card reflected the same feeling. Their wedding invite had a fairytale theme. The couple had different cards printed for all the occasions, all of which had their caricatures on them.

The card called their wedding ‘A Knotty Affair’ and had really fun themes for each and every ceremony or function. The bride, who is also Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan’s rakhi sister, decided to change her name from Shweta to Kaira after the wedding. And, to make sure the world knows about it, the couple chose to write the bride’s new name on their invite. The two got married on November 3, 2014.

#5. Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha

The beautiful Hyderabadi princess, Dia Mirza, married her prince charming, Sahil Sangha, as per Arya Samaj rituals and ceremonies. During all the serene wedding ceremonies, the gorgeous couple chose to keep their look as subtle as possible. And, their love for simplicity was reflected in their wedding invite as well. The subtle yet charming wedding invite included an off-white card with beautiful floral print on one side and a delightful box of sweets. Dia and Sahil got married on October 18, 2014

#6. Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani

Bollywood's ‘He-man’ and Dream Girl’s eldest daughter, Esha Deol, married businessman Bharat Takhtani, in a star-studded affair. Their wedding card was as magnificent as their wedding. The wedding card was placed in a beautiful golden and cream re-usable box.

They personalised their card boxes with their gold plated initials placed inside a lotus motif, along with an Om and Swastika. Along with the card, were moti-choor laddoos and dry fruits. The card contained some really beautiful images of Radha-Krishna, which added a divine allure to it. Their wedding took place on June 29, 2012.

#7. Imran Khan and Avantika Malik

Bollywood heartthrob, Imran, married his childhood sweetheart just a little while after he entered the tinsel town. Their wedding card was a reflection of their playfulness and imaginative style. The card contained two black and silver boxes that had 2011 written on them in words. One of the boxes contained customised chocolates in them. The other one had a year-planner diary, potpourri fragrance, and a pinwheel in it. The wedding details were printed on a yellow paper that was attached to the pinwheel. 

The box also included a swipe card for the security and guest identification purposes. On the reverse end of this swipe card was the map with wedding venue marked on it. The couple had a registered marriage on January 10, 2011; followed by a grand reception organised by Aamir Khan.

#8. Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva

The wedding card of Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva was one of the costliest cards ever made. Do you want to know why? Crushed gemstones and real gold were used to make their card! Their eco-friendly invite had two segments. The first compartment was for chocolates, while the other contained separate invites for different marriage ceremonies like mehendi, sangeet, wedding and reception.

The cards also had a unique-limited edition of 'Ganjifa' painting for special invitees. It was packed like a jewellery box made of velvet. The invitation and the bag carrying the card were made from handmade paper, which was all 100 per cent recycled material. About 2000 cards were sent for their marriage, which took place on October 29, 2010.

#9. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s wedding was a much-awaited affair of the tinsel town. Known for their style and royalty, the couple made sure that even their wedding card reflected the same. For their big day, the couple chose a royal square-shaped golden coloured wedding card. It was personalised with a special royal crest with their initials ‘RS’ on it. This stunning and elegant wedding invitation was designed by Ravish Kapoor of Innovative Invitations.

The invite was placed inside with Lord Ganesha’s face imprinted in the middle. Shlokas were printed on the flaps of the card. The wedding ceremony details were placed in a booklet style in this box. There was another special box containing customised chocolates for the invitees as well. This invitation and the gift box was held together with a gold satin ribbon. This ribbon was personalised with a vinyl logo which was cut on acrylic. The much-in-love couple tied the knot on November 22, 2009.

#10. Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan

Since it was the wedding of two big shots of B-town, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, their invitation had to be special. The invitation of this grand affair was sent in three golden coloured boxes with two big entwined ‘As’ drawn on them. The boxes were held together with a red ribbon. The first box contained the invite, while the second box had 24 pieces of mithai made from chocolate imported from Switzerland. An idol of Lord Ganesha was placed in the third box.

Symbol ‘AA’ was also embossed on red in white gold on the cover of the card that was placed in the first box. Next page of the invite had lord Ganesha printed on it with a few shlokas in golden letters. The third page had a Hindi poem penned by Amitabh Bachchan’s late father and poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The rest of the pages contained the formal invitation to the wedding and details of the ceremonies. The card was printed in both Hindi and English. For the personal touch, parents of the bride and groom signed each card. The couple got married on April 20, 2007.

#11. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan

Popularly known as Saifeena, Saif and Kareena made headlines when the two of them tied the knot in 2012. The couple walked down the aisle in a Muslim wedding style. And so, their elegant yet royal wedding invite is something people can vouch for. With the Pataudi emblem adorning its top, Saif and Kareena’s wedding invite was simple and to the point, sharing all the important details that are meant to be.

One of the cutest couples of the tinsel town, Genelia D’souza and Riteish Deshmukh decided on forever on February 3, 2012. With an idiosyncratic design of their elegant wedding invitation card, the couple grabbed more eyeballs. Genelia and Riteish’s wedding invite was designed by Delhi’s famous Entertainment Design Company (EDC). There were customised hand-made chocolates as well along with the wedding invitation card, having initials of the couple on them. In fact, topping it all, the wedding invite box itself had R and G initials on them.

In December 2017, two of the most stunning celeb faces, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, entered the holy bliss of matrimony. Coming from two diverse backgrounds, Virushka (as their fans fondly call them) made it big with their grand and lavish destination wedding in Tuscany, Italy. After their hush-hush and completely secret wedding, the lovebirds hosted two starry wedding receptions in Mumbai and Delhi. The invite of their reception was one of its kind. Their pastel-coloured invite box had an attached sapling, which proved to be unique and something original. Virat and Anushka have also put a lot of thought in making their reception invite.

One of the most talked about and much-awaited weddings of the year 2018 took place on May 8 of Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her long-time boyfriend and now husband, Anand S Ahuja. The lovebirds have had the most amazing, simple yet beautiful wedding invitation cards. The simple greeny and close to nature kind of wedding invite went viral. Sonam and Anand’s card was themed in green with beautiful flowering plants, which happens to be the presentation of beginning a new life.
