Mouni Roy Left A Heart-Melting Note For Her Father, Anil Roy On His 8th Death Anniversary

The 'Naagin' actress, Mouni Roy penned down a heart-wrenching note for her father, Anil Roy, as she found herself missing him on the event of his 8th death anniversary!

The model-turned-actress, Mouni Roy’s father, Anil Roy had passed away on June 9, 2013. It was the time when the actress had made her appearance in the television serial, Junoon Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq. According to a report by Bollywood Life, Anil Roy was an office superintendent of the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad, in West Bengal. On the contrary to her father’s profession, Mouni chose to pursue acting as her career, just like her mother, Mukti Roy and grandfather, Shekhar Chandra Roy, being renowned theatre artists.

The fact that a father and daughter share a bond that is like none other, Mouni Roy found herself missing her father on his 8th death anniversary. It has been 8 years since the demise of Anil Roy, but the pain of it is still alive in the heart of the young actress. On remembering her father, Mouni posted a picture of a small prayer ceremony organised for him.

On June 9, 2021, the Naagin actress, Mouni Roy took to her IG handle to share a picture in which she can be seen sitting in front of her father’s framed photo. On the occasion, she hoped that he is in a happy place and that she thinks of him every single day. Along with the picture, Mouni penned a heartfelt note that said, "8 years today... hope you are your joyous best in transcendental light & love.. we remember you fondly everyday."

To this post, a slew of Mouni Roy’s fellow mates from the industry extended their support and showered love upon the actress. Arjun Bijlani left a heart emoji, whereas, Mandira Bedi wrote, “Sending you love and prayers.. (sic).” Others, such as Aashka Goradia, Smriti Irani, Karan Tacker, Drashti Dhami, Adaa Khan, etc also reacted to her post by dropping the heart and Namaste emoticons in the comments section.

Mouni was very dear to her father and even though she chooses not to talk about it in interviews, she does share social media posts for him at times. On Father’s Day, 2020, the actress had shared throwback pictures of her father, Anil Roy on her Instagram handle. She had captioned the post as "Baba, my first love, 7 years.. I miss you everyday."

Taking a slight look on her career front, Mouni Roy had last starred in the ZEE5 web film, London Confidential, which was released in September 2020. Soon, the actress will be seen in the upcoming fantasy fiction film, Brahmastra, which is expected to come out this year. In the telly world, Mouni was last seen in the show Naagin 3, which aired from 2018-2019. Apart from this, she had also made an appearance in a music video of the song Patli Kamariya, written and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. This music video has crossed 27 million views on YouTube.
