1970s contemporary actresses, Moushumi Chatterjee and Jaya Bachchan kept their animosity intact, as the former dissed the latter for her rude behaviour towards the paparazzi.
Moushumi Chatterjee is one of the biggest names in the Hindi film industry. The Rim Jhim Gire Sawaan actress had a glorious professional front in both the Hindi and Bengali film industries in the 1970s. Apart from her acting chops, Moushumi was also equally famous for her bold personality. The lady was known to be brutally honest and funny, as she didn’t hesitate to speak her mind.
Recently, Moushumi Chatterjee graced the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards, where she had a fun interaction with the shutterbugs. Amid the conversation, the yesteryear actress took a jibe at Jaya Bachchan’s rude behaviour towards the paps and declared herself better than Jaya.

The 70s was the time when actress were rarely seen to be on cordial terms with each other, and the industry was abuzz with their animosity anecdotes. One such strong contemporaries of the 70s were Jaya Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee. The duo simultaneously ruled the Bengali and Hindi film fraternity and never hesitated to call a spade a spade. In one of her recent red carpet appearances, the shutterbugs bombarded Moushumi Chatterjee to look left, right and centre for their lenses, which got her a little agitated. Someone from the crew then compared Moushumi with Jaya, and the former immediately said:
“I am a much better person than Jaya Bachchan.”
Soon after her statement, the paps went crazy and started hooting for Moushumi. They also called her for some solo shots, to which she happily obliged. Moushumi even credited the paps for their hard work and said that without them, she or any other actor wouldn’t have been here. It is important to note that throughout the verbal exchange, Moushumi was constantly smiling and following the instructions of the shutterbugs. Moushumi further added:
“Actually, aap log nahi hote toh hum kahaan hote.”
