Mrunal Thakur talks about her fashion preferences and confesses that she outsources maximum outfits for events and public appearances.
Mrunal Thakur is the rising star amongst actresses of her generation. She took her giant leap of faith from the television screen and made her debut with the Hrithik Roshan-starrer, Super 30. Fast forward to now, the diva has conquered a special place in the hearts of her audience, pan-India. She has equally contributed to delivering blockbuster films, both in Tollywood as well as Bollywood. Apart from that, she is also recognised for her charismatic personality, humble nature, beautiful looks and amazing sense of fashion.
In a recent interaction with Galatta Plus, Mrunal Thakur delved into the matter of her fashion regime and revealed how she doesn’t tend to invest in designer clothing pieces. Explaining the simple reason behind her choice, the diva mentioned how most of these outfits are one-time wears, and one doesn’t repeat it again. Moreover, she added that the maximum amount she spend on any clothing for herself is Rs. 2000, and most of her clothes that she wears on interviews are just outsourced. In her words:
“Because whatever is expensive, you cannot wear them over and over again. You are not going to wear them again. These are not my clothes, I have just sourced them. The maximum money I have spent on a top is Rs 2000. That also I feel is too much.”

Moving forth in the conversation, Mrunal Thakur bluntly stated that she never pursues to buy anything expensive or luxurious, just for the sake of the brand it is associated with. She called it a wasteful expenditure. Instead, she revealed how it is good habit to have only one or two statement classic pieces, and keeping the rest of it simple. She explained:
“Yes, having a classic statement collection in your wardrobe is good but wearing a brand for the heck of it is a waste of money. I would rather invest that money in food, in some plants, house, or a land where I can do farming.”
In the concluding segment of the interaction, Mrunal Thakur spilled beans on the hack she follows for her regular public appearances and revealed that she likes to cheat with her wardrobe. Explaining more on it, she remarked she wears only one or two statement items for a particular look, while the rest of it remains mundane. She added:
“So what we do, I cheat. In my wardrobe, if I have 1000 things, out of that five things will be statement things. I will wear a gunjee and jeans and I throw that one statement thing like a shoe or a bag and I will keep repeating it. You have to be smart and you also cannot end up investing in anything that’s in trend. Trend will just last for six months, one year and this is gone.”
