It was in 1991 when the much-in-love couple welcomed their twins, Akash and Isha into their lives. Their family was completed with the arrival of their younger son, Anant Ambani, in 1995. Cut to now, the Ambani family is having the best phase of their lives, and they are all set to welcome their choti bahu, i.e., Anant's wife, Radhika, into their lives. Amid all the excitement about Anant's wedding, let us look back at the time when Nita Ambani revealed the reason behind keeping her and Mukesh's twins' names as Isha and Akash, and it's all things adorable.

Nita Ambani recalled giving birth to Isha and Akash Ambani

In a 2009 interview with the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Nita Ambani revealed the story of when her and Mukesh's twin babies, Isha and Akash were born. The gorgeousness added that she was in the US, and Mukesh just returned to India, when upon landing in the country, he got an urgent call to get back to the US again. Nita Ambani shared that after hearing the news, Mukesh Ambani, Kokilaben Ambani, and a doctor took a flight, and then the pilot broke out the news of the arrival of the twin babies. Sharing that Isha and Akash were premature babies, Nita said:

"I was in the US and Mukesh had just returned to India. But on landing, he got a call asking him to get back to the States. So, he, mummy (Kokilaben Ambani) and Dr Firoza got on the flight—which is where the pilot announced the news of the arrival of the children—a boy and a girl. All of them were so excited."

Mukesh Ambani had to name his twins and choosing their names had a specific reason behind it

In the same interview, Nita Ambani revealed that when Mukesh Ambani reached her side after the birth of their twins, the first thing he had to do was to name the 'Baby boy Ambani' and the 'Baby girl Ambani.' She said they were using 'Baby boy Ambani' and the 'Baby girl Ambani' for the little ones before the couple decided upon their meaningful names.

Talking more about the reason behind naming their twins Isha and Akash, Nita stated that when Mukesh was reaching the US to meet the little ones, he was flying over the 'mountains.' This was why the 'Baby girl Ambani' was named 'Isha,' as it means the 'Goddess of the mountains.' Talking about naming the 'Baby boy Ambani', Nita said that as Mukesh was flying above the Sky, they thought of naming the 'little him' as 'Akash', which is the Hindi of 'Sky'. Nita Ambani mentioned:

"Mukesh was flying over the mountains when he got the news that we had a baby girl—so, she was named Isha—which means Goddess of the mountains. And because they were in the sky—Akash."

When Nita Ambani revealed that she was told that she could never become a mom

For those who don't know, Isha Ambani and Akash were born via In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in 1991. As per a report by iDiva, in a throwback interview back in 2011, Nita had stated that just like every other girl, she too wanted to become a mom, but when she was only 23, she was told that she could never conceive, which left her shattered. The gorgeousness credited her doctor and close friend, Dr. Firuza Parikh, who helped her in her pregnancy process for Isha and Akash.
