Another suicide case has shocked the nation, and this time, it has surfaced from the ‘City of Dreams’, Mumbai. Nishant Tripathi, a 41-year-old animation professional, was found dead in a hotel bathroom, allegedly by suicide. This incident occurred only days after the suicide of Agra-based TCS employee, Manav Sharma, where he blamed his wife for harassing him and accusing her of infidelity. Before this, 34-year-old Bengaluru techie, Atul Subhash took his own life, leaving behind a video note and a 24-page suicide note, blaming his wife, Nikita, and her family for this drastic step.

Nishant Tripathi leaves a heartbreaking suicide note blaming his wife and aunt

Three days before his suicide, Nishant had checked into Mumbai’s Sahara Hotel. On February 28, 2025, the hotel staff noticed a “Do Not Disturb” sign hanging on his door for an unusually long period. When repeated knocks went unanswered, the staff used a master key to enter the room — only to find him hanging in the bathroom.

The suicide note, uploaded on his company’s website and secured with a password, contained an emotional farewell directed at his wife, Apoorva Parikh. In his final words, he expressed his undying love for her despite the circumstances that led to his death. He also mentioned his mother in the note, urging his wife and mausi (aunt) to stay away from her. Nishant’s note read:

“Hi babe, by the time you read this, I’ll be gone. In my last moments, I could’ve hated you for everything that happened, but I don’t. For this moment, I choose love. I loved you then. I love you now. And as I had promised, it’s not going to fade… My mother knows that among all the other struggles I faced, you and Prarthana Mausi are also responsible for my death. So, I beg you, don’t approach her now. She’s broken enough. Let her grieve in peace.”

Nishant’s mother’s heart-wrenching post following his cremation

Nishant’s mother, Neelam Chaturvedi, is an activist who has dedicated most of her life to fighting for women’s rights and gender equality. Over the years, she has helped over 46,000 suffering women and brought justice to over 37,000 women. On March 1, 2025, Neelam bared her heart in a post with her son’s photo and wrote:

“Friends, I am Neelam Chaturvedi. You see me as a living person, but the truth is, I am already dead. Today, I feel like a living corpse… My son, Nishant. He was my everything. Both my children loved me deeply, but Nishant was my friend, my companion... my strength, the source of my energy to live and work. My life is over now… I am now nothing more than a living corpse… He was supposed to perform my last rites, but today, on March 2, I performed my son’s cremation at ‘ECO-MOKSHA’ in Mumbai. My daughter, Prachi, carried out her elder brother’s last rites.”

Nishant’s body was sent for post-mortem examination. Initially, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) was filed, but following a complaint by his mother, an FIR was registered against his wife and her aunt under Section 108 of the Indian Penal Code. While an FIR has been registered against Apoorva Parikh and the aunt, Prarthana Mishra, no arrests have been made so far.
