When a divorce or separation takes place, a woman is often questioned for the same by society. She has been put on a pedestal of questions and drowned with blames. Samantha too was dealing with it after announcing her separation with Chaitanya. While some were claiming that Samantha was in a relationship with someone else, others had thought that she doesn't want to have babies. On October 8, 2021, Samantha had taken to her Instagram handle to refute these rumours once and for all.

Baring her heart out in an emotional note, Samantha had written, "Your emotional investment in a personal crisis has overwhelmed me. Thank you all for showing deep empathy, concern and for defending me against false rumours and stories that are being spread. They say I had affairs, never wanted children, that I am an opportunist, and that I have had abortions. A divorce in itself is an extremely painful process. Let alone allowing me the time to heal. This attack on me personally is relentless. But I promise you this I will never allow this or anything else they say. Break me."
Before that, Samatha had shared a cryptic post on her IG stories, questioning the double standards of the society for judging a woman on moral grounds, whereas not batting an eye to the morality of a man. Samantha had posted a quote by Farida D that could be read as ''If matters are constantly morally questionable when done by women, but not even morally questioned when done by men- then we as a society, fundamental have no Morals." Atop her story, The Family Man 2 actress had written, ''Good Morning.''
Samantha and Naga had tied the knot on October 6-7, 2017, and had ended it before their fourth wedding anniversary!
