Naga Chaitanya's mother, Lakshmi Daggubati, was seen happily posing with her ex-husband, Nagarjuna and his second wife, Amala Akkineni, at her son's engagement with Sobhita Dhulipala.
Nagarjuna and Lakshmi Daggubati's son, Naga Chaitanya got engaged to popular actress, Sobhita Dhulipala in a private ceremony in Hyderabad on August 8, 2024. Chaitanya and Sobhita's union was attended by their close family members, and glimpses from the same went viral soon after getting posted online. Initially, Nagarjuna announced his son's engagement with Sobhita. Later, the actress posted candid moments from the ceremony with a poetic caption.
Now, in the newest pictures shared by Naga Chaitanya's doting daddy, Nagarjuna, we can spot the latter's ex-wife, Lakshmi Daggubati, happily posing for unseen family portraits. For the unversed, Nagarjuna and Lakshmi were married to each other from 1984 to 1990. Post separation, Nagarjuna tied the knot with his second wife, Amala Akkineni, while Lakshmi got hitched to Sharath Vijayaraghavan. Thus, Chaitanya's engagement was also attended by his mother, Lakshmi, and she was seen posing with not only her ex-husband, Nagarjuna and his present wife, Amala, but also with Sobhita's parents. Sharing a photo, Nagarjuna penned:
"'You don't love someone because they're perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they're not.' #girizoom."

Nagarjuna also shared another lovely photo from his elder son, Chaitanya's engagement with Sobhita. In the photo, we can spot Nagarjuna, his wife, Amala, his sons, Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni and Sobhita smiling their all-teeths out for the lens. The pictures were captured against a backdrop of lush green banana leaves and colourful floral decorations, revealing the theme of Chaitanya and Sobhita's engagement as a traditional one.
On August 9, 2024, Sobhita took to her Instagram handle and shared some candid moments from the ceremony with a poetic caption from a Tamil poem, Kurunthogai, translated by A K Ramanujan. In the photo, we can get a clear glimpse of the decoration done at her and Chaitanya's engagement, featuring traditional lotus strings, mogra garlands and many more. The madly-in-love couple was lost in each other's embrace as they sat on a swing. Along with it, Sobhita penned:
"What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? But in love our hearts are as red earth and pouring rain: mingled beyond parting."

For the engagement ceremony, Sobhita paid homage to her traditional roots and wore a saree from designer, Manish Malhotra's collection, whose fabric was sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh. The actress looked pretty in the soft blush-toned Uppada silk drape, and her look was accentuated with a gold neck chain, matar mala, and jhumkas. Subtle makeup, a bindi, and hair tied in a bun-braid hairdo completed her look. On the other hand, Chaitanya looked handsome in a classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and kanduva, a three-piece set worn by the men of Andhra Pradesh.
