It had started with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s baby announcement, followed by Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Karanvir Bohra-Teejay Sidhu and Anita Hassanadani and Rohit Reddy. After dating for 9 years and enjoying the marital life for 8 years, Nakuul Mehta never fails to set the bar of marriage goals very high with his childhood love and wife, Jankee Parekh Mehta. Taking to his IG handle, Nakuul Mehta announced that his life is expanding as he is soon going to be a daddy. Sharing a beautiful video of how they started off as best friends, turned into girlfriend- boyfriend, then got married and are now going to embrace parenthood, Nakuul wrote, “Best friend < Girl friend < Missus < THIS Circle of life & then some more .. Avec @jank_ee #WeAreExpanding.” The video has their childhood picture, dating pictures, marriage pictures and then came to their pregnancy test picture with two lines and baby bump pictures, sweetly surprising their fans. Jankee also took to her IG handle and shared photoshoot pictures with hubby, Nakuul, flaunting her baby bump, while twining with hubby, Nakuul. Sharing that their quarantine wasn’t boring, she wrote, “Our quarantine wasn’t boring at all we’re going to have a souvenir for life and we CANNOT wait! It was on January 28, 2012, when Nakuul Mehta and Jankee Parekh had tied the knot in a proper Hindu traditional wedding. On January 28, 2020, Nakuul and Jankee had completed 8 years of their married life. Nakuul's wife, Jankee had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a childhood picture with her hubby. Alongside it, she had written in Devnagri, "Bachpan ka pyaar, taken seriously! Happy anniversary", followed by a heart emoji. Nakuul had also shared a mushy picture with his wife and had written in Devnagri, "Mai hoon kyonki, tum ho! Happy anniversary baby!" In an interview with the Humans of Bombay, Nakuul had talked about how he had met the love of his life. He had said, "My first thought when I saw Jankee was, ‘How amazing would life be, if she agreed to marry me.’ I was only 18 but my instincts told me, she was the one. We were both training with Shiamak–I saw her there for the first time. I was also interning at BSE & remember travelling from there to Andheri, strategising an opening line."
He had further elaborated on how he had gathered the courage to start a conversation with her. He had said, "Finally, I gathered the courage & asked her, ‘Do you have a name?’ Her look said, ‘What do you mean, do you have a name?’ But she just said, ‘Jankee’. After that, it took me 2 months to get her number! We talked every night for 6 months before I asked her out. I went to her house with a bouquet & a card–cheesy, I know! But all she said was, ‘I’ll call you.’ Then she called & said, ‘I don’t see you like that.’ It was a no go–but I continued to be her friend despite how hard it was."
