Entrepreneur and 'Shark Tank India' judge, Namita Thapar opened up about her 2 failed IVF attempts and the emotional turmoil she underwent.
Namita Thapar is a popular name in the business world and is hailed as one of the most gorgeous entrepreneurs. She is the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals and is currently grabbing the limelight for her stint in the business reality show, Shark Tank India season 2. In a recent episode of the show, Namita got heaps of praise for talking about her two failed IVFs.
Talking about the same, the stunning entrepreneur shared how talking about IVF and infertility is a taboo in society. Sharing her story, Namita revealed that after her first child, she tried to conceive naturally for 3 to 4 years. But when she couldn’t conceive, Namita went for 2 infertility treatments, but that too failed. Sharing her emotions regarding the same, Namita said:
“In my case when I was 28 years old I wanted to get pregnant and in 2 months I conceived and had a normal pregnancy after that, for 3 to 4 years I tried and I couldn’t conceive. I have gone through 2 infertility treatments and those 25 injections and the emotional and physical pain that I went through.”

In the same segment of the episode, she further talked about the taboo society puts on people for talking about infertility. In her words:
“Even the taboo things that keep your legs up, crossing your legs and I already have kids but imagine the parents who don’t have kids. After two attempts I gave up and said that I am happy with one child. But then a miracle happened and I conceived naturally.”
The memory of her 2 failed IVF attempts stayed with Namita for a long period of time, and she could not even discuss it with anyone. Revealing why she opened up about the same, the 45-year-old entrepreneur said:
“Apparently, the memory stayed with me and for 10 years I couldn’t talk about it publicly even on my Youtube channel I couldn’t as it was taboo to speak, a scar but 6 months back I spoke about infertility with the doctor and stayed up all night thinking if I could go public about this. People did support me and said it's private and why do you wanna talk about it? But then I listened to my heart and for the first time I spoke about it and have written about the particular thing in my book.”

After working for six years in Guidant Corporation, USA, Namita joined her father, Satish Mehta's company, Emcure Pharmaceuticals, as a CFO. She is currently heading her company's business in India, leading about 4000 medical representatives across the nation. There's no doubt that Namita is a role model for aspiring entrepreneurs, who want to make a name for themselves in the corporate sector.
