Nana Patekar worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali just once on his film, 'Khamoshi: The Musical.' In a recent interview, Nana revealed why he did not work with the filmmaker again.
Nana Patekar is one of the best critically-acclaimed actors in the country. His attention to detail, ability to adapt a character, and flawless acting make him one of a kind. On the other hand, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a successful director known for his intensive filmmaking process. The two talented professionals worked together in the film, Khamoshi: The Musical. However, the two never worked together, after an alleged fallout. In a recent interview with Lallantop, Nana spilled the beans on the same.
Nana Patekar shared that he had certain differences with Sanjay Leela Bhansali over the filmmaking process. He was not satisfied with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's direction for the film. As a result, they had many conflicts on the set of the film. Nana described how a particular scene led to a massive argument between the two. He was quoted as saying:
"It wasn't just one argument, there were many. But Sanjay is a good director. In the scene, my wife has a heart attack. I'm playing cards with my back to her. She's behind me. We are both deaf, of course. How would I know what's happening behind my back? Sanjay wanted me to turn. He said that there is an unspoken bond that a couple shares, but this wasn't a strong enough reason for me to understand the scene. I said I needed a solid reason."

Nana believes that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a good director. The Rajneeti actor accepted the possibility of stepping out of line. However, he feels that relationships should not end with the work but rather continue after a film is completed. Nana believes that memories stay for long.
During the promotion of his last release, Nana Patekar interacted with the media. Since his film, The Vaccine War, was based on true events, he spoke about how there should be no changes in the facts and figures. The Parinda actor said that filmmakers should not take liberty with the facts. He cited an example of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies, where he was unhappy with the latter's song, 'Malhari.' Nana revealed that he called up the Heeramandi director and conveyed his disappointment with the song.

In the same interview, Nana Patekar shared his expectations of working with filmmaker, Vidhu Vinod Chopra in the film, Parinda (1989) and his bad memories associated with it. Nana added that he doesn't like Vidhu Vinod Chopra and cannot control his anger over it. In his words:
"Every time I meet Vidhu Vinod Chopra, I wish this was our last time."
