Recently, a digital creator named Otherwarya revealed that Indian influencers paid hefty sums to attend Cannes 2024.
The 77th edition of the prestigious annual Cannes Film Festival saw the attendance of some of the popular names from India, including Bollywood celebrities and influencers. Amongst all of them, the Delhi-based fashion creator, Nancy Tyagi garnered much attention from the audience. People loved her self-stitched clothes, which she wore to the Cannes red carpet.
However, now another digital creator, Aishwarya Subramanyam, whose IG handle is Otherwarya, mentioned that the influencers who graced the film festival had paid a hefty sum to be a part of it. According to a lifestyle magazine, Jodi, the digital creator was previously the editor-in-chief of Elle India. Taking to her Instagram stories, she discussed behind-the-scenes of Cannes. One of her followers replied to her stories and revealed that Nancy Tyagi, who is managed by Monk Entertainment, an agency by the popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, paid around Rs. 8 lakh to be at the film festival.

Soon, a Redditor posted the screenshot of Otherwarya’s story on the discussion platform, and netizens started penning down their thoughts on it. While a user shared that Nancy was sponsored by Tanishq, others were just happy with the fashion creator’s immense success. One user penned, “Wouldn't mind even if Nancy paid and went. Atleast she is talented and stitched her own outfits.” Meanwhile, another one said, “Looking at the details that she is managed by a monk and tagged Tanishq in one of her Cannes posts, it is quite possible that she paid or had a collab whatever, but she grabbed the limelight for her self-stitched looks, and it was way better than what others served.”
In the following IG stories, Aishwarya revealed the prices of tickets for various events at the 77th Cannes Film Festival and also disclosed how much influencers like Raj Shamani, Sharan Hegde, and Vishnu Kaushal have paid to grace the red carpet of the prestigious film festival.

While Otherwarya revealed behind-the-scenes of Cannes and shared how influencers are getting invited to the film festival these days, she also talked about the film, All We Imagine As Light. The film directed by Payal Kapadia, is the first Indian film in 30 years to compete for the Palme d’Or.
