May 2018 was an unforgettable month for the Bollywood fraternity and millions of Bollywood buffs. Yes, you guessed it right. It was because of Sonam Kapoor’s wedding who became Sonam Kapoor Ahuja on May 08 when she walked the aisle with her long-time entrepreneur boyfriend, Anand Ajuha. Post her marriage, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja took a break owing to her professional commitments- first, to be present at the Cannes Film Festival and second, for promotions of the latest released film, Veere Di Wedding. And just when you thought that celebrations are over for her, pictures from a Saturday night bash are here to prove you wrong.
Yes, Sonam’s good friend, philanthropist and chairman of Villoo Poonawalla Foundation, Natasha Poonawalla hosted a grand party in honour of Sonam and Anand on Saturday i.e. June 02, 2018. The party was attended by who’s who of Bollywood namely, Anil Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Karan Johar, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, Jacqueline Fernandez, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Shakeel Ladak , Harshavardhan Kapoor, , Masaba Gupta, Maheep Kapoor, Shikha Talsania, Arpita Khan Sharma, Chunky Pandey, and Mohit Marwah. Looking at the pictures, it might first appear that this was just another Bollywood party. But one picture which is going viral on social media, in which Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand S Ahuja can be seen cutting a cake, says it all that this party was specially organised by Natasha Poonawalla for her friend, Sonam and her hubby, Anand.
As we can see, Sonam attended Natasha’s party in a deep blue shimmer off-shoulder gown and Anand looked dapper in a pinstriped suit. A sparkling diamond choker, red lips and a slicked-back bun added grace to Sonam’s looks.
For those who do not know, Sonam got married to Anand on May 08, 2018 in a Sikh wedding ceremony following the Anand Karaj ritual. Their celebrations started on May 06 with the mehendi ceremony and ended on the night of May 08 with a grand reception party.
Post their wedding, Sonam and Anand’s honeymoon had to be postponed because of Sonam’s professional commitments. A source was quoted as saying to a media portal, “Anand won’t be at Cannes with her, but the couple is planning an October-November honeymoon which will be delayed because of the bride-to-be’s choc-o-block schedule”.
Speaking of Sonam’s marriage, after entering the marital bliss, there are two things which are a must for Sonam and Anand. First, the couple is not allowed to use the phone after going off to bed. In regards to this, Sonam earlier said, “It's a rule basically Anand has put on both of us. Right before I sleep I have to put my phone on charging in the bathroom or I charge it in the hall of other room”.
And second, Anand has to fulfil all the wishes of Sonam that she has written in the form of poems over years. And this collection of poems was actually her gift to her hubby. Sonam had once revealed the same on the Simi Garewal show, stating, “I have written quite a few poems but there was this one poem that I wrote when I was around 16 years old. It is called Ambition. I had promised myself that as soon as I find the person that I'm going to be with, I'm going to give him that poem. The day I get married, the poem will be with that man and I'll say that this is what I want my life to be like and hopefully, we can work together towards this”.
