Navya Naveli Nanda is an avid Instagrammer like her grandpa, Amitabh Bachchan and a few hours ago, when he has shared his midnight thoughts on music, she dropped the sweetest comment on his post.
Navya Naveli Nanda – though over the years we have known her as Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s granddaughter, in the past one year, she had impressed us by making her own identity at such a young age. As a Digital Technology Graduate from Fordham University, Navya had worked as a Marketing Intern for firms like Godrej Group, Ogilvy, AAVRANI and Development Intern for Facebook Marketing Co. before she co-founded a women's health platform, Aara Health. In the past year, Navya had initiated a lot of projects and campaigns in the support of women, which includes Project Naveli that works towards building a gender-equal world.

Earlier this year, in January, Navya Naveli Nanda had launched Project Naveli, through which she hopes ‘to bridge the gap gender gap in India by providing women with access to resources and opportunities that will allow for economic and social empowerment’. Education, economic independence, domestic violence and mental and physical health are four areas that Project Naveli initiatives will focus on. Announcing her first project i.e., Period Positive Homes, Navya had explained, “Project 1: Period Positive Homes. A home where menstruators are not discriminated against and are empowered with resources & knowledge to lead healthy, dignified lives. This project will combat against the age old custom amongst the Madia/Gond tribes in Gadchiroli, of banishing women to huts during menstruation, originating from the belief that menstruation is “impure”. Partnering up with the incredible @mukulmadhavfoundation to create this much-needed change!”
Not just for her professional achievements at the mere age of 24, Navya Naveli Nanda is also in the headlines for her relationship with her grandparents, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. It was in December 2020 when Navya had made her Instagram account public and since then, she has been delighting her fans with lovely family pictures and comments on her loved ones’ posts. Navya is an avid Instagrammer like her grandpa, Big B and a few hours ago, when he has shared his midnight thoughts on music, she dropped the sweetest comment on his post. Dressed in a tracksuit and printed bandana, Mr Bachchan relaxed on the couch with a recording mic in front of him and he captioned the picture as “.... if music be the food of love play on .. give me excess of it ..” To which, Navya commented, “Love you” followed by a heart emoji.
On January 26, 2021, to wish his fans on Republic Day 2020, Amitabh Bachchan had posted a video, in which he had shown off his 'new acquisition' i.e., a mask with sensors that lights up in-sync with what the wearer is saying. He had captioned his post as “Happy Republic Day” and in the video too, he had wished everyone by saying, "Hello everybody, just wanted to introduce you to my new acquisition. Happy Republic Day to all of you." He had then repeated the message in Hindi and ended the video by folding his hands and laughing heartily. Navya had commented on the post, "Hahahahahaha love it."

Unlike her star Bachchan family, Navya Naveli Nanda won’t join the film industry but instead is gearing up to start working with her father, Nikhil Nanda, in their family business (Escorts Limited). Navya had expressed the sense of pride she is feeling in being the first woman in her family to take the lead in the family business. In her interview with the Vogue, Navya had said, “I would be the fourth generation of the family taking the lead—and the first woman. It is a great sense of pride for me to be carrying forward this incredible legacy left behind by my great-grandfather HP Nanda.”
Speaking about the influence of growing up around working women in the family, Navya Naveli Nanda continued, “I want to use the resources, people, privilege and platforms that I have to spread awareness and bring change. Studying abroad, I found the women there far more emancipated. I want women in India to feel the same way, to be given similar opportunities. I want them to be masters of their own destiny and take charge of their own lives. I've grown up around working women in my family—it's all I've known. To bring that change, you have to start with education and financial independence. That's where Project Naveli comes in.” Her proud mother, Shweta Bachchan Nanda and mamu, Abhishek Bachchan lauded Navya through their Instagram posts.
