Navya Nanda Reacts To Massive Hate After Her IIM-Ahmedabad Admission: 'I Don't Take Offence To..'

Navya Naveli Nanda for the first time addressed the massive hate that came her way after she secured an admission to IIM-Ahmedabad, and people called it a privilege.

Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of famous Bollywood actor, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, is paving her way to stardom with her project, Naveli and her podcast. While her family has a strong lineage of actors and actresses (courtesy her mama, Abhishek Bachchan and mami, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), Navya chose to walk a different path and follow her father's business. She is currently studying at IIM-Ahmedabad, but her accomplishment of securing admission to the prestigious college was criticised and questioned by trollers on the internet.

Navya Naveli Nanda addressed netizens' hateful comments for her after securing a seat at IIM-Ahmedabad

Navya Naveli Nanda talked about managing negativity during an interview with India Today Conclave. When asked about the trolling that followed her enrollment in IIM Ahmedabad, Navya boldly said that social media is a platform for people to share their opinions. She also expressed gratitude for being part of IIM Ahmedabad and studying from the finest professors in the world.

Further, Navya added that she does not take any offence to what people say online. She added that coming from a privileged background, she got opportunities that others did not. However, she only focuses on taking the feedback and bettering herself as a person, entrepreneur and an Indian. She was quoted as saying:

"I don't actually take offence to what people say. I actually come from lived reality. It’s essential for me to look at feedback; it will only make me a better person, a better entrepreneur, and a better Indian. I accept that I come from a very different lived reality. People will have something to say about that. However, she remains focused on her goals and ambitions, emphasising that her responsibility is to herself and her work. I don’t give a lot of thought to what people say negatively; I use it to do the best I can do in my journey."

A professor replied to people questioning whether Navya got 99.9 percentile in CAT

Ever since, Navya has shared her happiness and excitement about starting her college life on the campus of IIM Ahmedabad. People have been questioning how she got admitted. Some have even called it not a 'real MBA'. Few have even credited Navya's celebrity lineage as the criteria for qualifying and getting admitted into the MBA program. 

After this, Promila Agarwal, an associate professor at IIM Ahmedabad, came in support of Navya and addressed the query regarding the legitimacy of her admission. Taking to X, Promila clarified that Navya got a solid CV (curriculum vitae). She even answered the question of whether Navya got a 99.9 percentline in CAT and shared that the exam is not necessary in securing admission.

Promila also took a playful dig at Navya and added that she is looking forward to seeing her post cribbing about the hard life in IIM Ahmedabad. Her post can be read as:

"She got a solid CV btw (by the way). You don't necessarily need CAT. Irrespective, hats off to everyone for being courageous enough to sign up for a rigorous program. PS: Just like other students, looking forward to her posts cribbing abt hard life at IIM-A."
