Nawazuddin Siddiqui has received a notice from the court after his second wife, Aaliya Siddiqui filed a report against him and his family for allegedly engaging in domestic violence.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has established his reputation as an actor. With several outstanding performances to his name, his career is at its peak. The same cannot be said about the actor's private life, though. Nawazuddin's second wife, Aaliya, recently accused the actor of severe wrongdoing and revealed that his family had been harassing her. Following Aaliya's accusation against him, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has received a notice from the court.
Aaliya Siddiqui recently gave police a statement at the Versova station, stating that Nawazuddin and his family refused to give her food, basic necessities, or even bathroom access. As a result, Aaliya filed a petition under IPC sections, 509 (an insult to modesty) and 498A (a husband or relative of a husband subjecting a woman to cruelty), with the help of her lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee. Rizwan told ETimes:
"The first case that was filed was a counter case to their complaint. We have filed it under section 509, insult to modesty. The basis of that is very simple. Nawazuddin’s mother claims that Aaliya is not his wife, in her complaint. So, in this scenario, this statement has to come from Nawaz and not from the mother. If Nawaz claims that Alia is not his wife, then it is contrary to all the documents where he has declared Aaliya as his wife, which includes government documents, passport and interviews."

For the uninformed, Aaliya was ordered to appear at Versova police station after her mother-in-law, Mehrunisa lodged a complaint against her under IPC sections 452, 323, 504 and 506 for trespassing and criminal intimidation. She further claimed that Aaliya is not Nawazuddin's legitimate wife. In response to this, advocate Rizwan said:
"I'm going by the admission on paper by Nawaz that Aaliya is his lawfully wedded wife because that is what he says everywhere. And if this case is true, then there is no case of trespass, which can be made against Aaliya by her mother-in-law because she has got no right or liberty to fight any kind of trespassing case against a wife who is entering her own husband's house. After CCTV cameras were installed, now even bodyguards are there, stopping Aaliya from going to the bathroom in the upper rooms. This means, their complaint of trespass is baseless, and Nawaz is cornered from both sides. Either there is a rape case against him, or there is a case of domestic violence because she is not getting food, and there is mental, physical, emotional and financial abuse."
