Nayanthara And Dhanush's First Awkward Encounter At A Producer's Wedding Amid Ongoing Legal Battle

Nayanthara and Dhanush have locked horns after the former used a BTS clip from his film in her Netflix documentary. While Dhanush issued a legal notice, Nayanthara called him names in an open letter.

Nayanthara is making headlines with her superhit Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale. It was the first time when the superstar of South bared her heart out and shared insights of her personal and professional life. However, she landed in legal trouble as she used a BTS of a film produced by Dhanush. Amidst the ongoing ugly dispute, Nayanthara and Dhanush had an awkward encounter at a producer's wedding.

Nayanthara and Dhanush ignored each other at a producer's wedding

Kollywood lovers have witnessed one of the biggest and ugliest feuds between the top celebrities in the industry. Nayanthara and Dhanush's ugly name-calling has left everyone shocked. Amidst it, the two were spotted at producer, Aakash Baskaran's wedding in Chennai.

At the event, Dhanush and Nayanthara were both sitting in the front row of the opposite aisles. While there wasn't much difference, they did their best to ignore each other and not even try to look at one another. Let us remind you that this marks the first appearance of Nayanthara and Dhanush after the former's explosive open letter.

The producer, Aakash Baskaran, invited a lot of famous names from the industry. He is producing Dhanush's upcoming film, Idly Kadai. He even shares a cordial bond with Nayanthara and her husband, Vignesh Shivan. One could clearly see Dhanush was trying to keep his focus straight, while Nayanthara was interacting with other guests.

Nayanthara bashed Dhanush through her open letter after he demanded Rs. 10 crore for copyright infringement

It seems like Dhanush was unhappy with Nayanthara, who added a three-second BTS clip to her Netflix documentary. He demanded Rs. 10 crore as he hit back at her with a legal notice under the Copyright Infringement Act. Nayanthara didn't take it lightly and issued a three-page-long letter. She was shocked by the demand of Dhanush as the BTS video was available in the public domain. 

Nayanthara, further in her letter, revealed how Dhanush is portrayed as gentle in front of the audience, but he is not in reality. Nayanthara tagged many of Dhanush's co-star and most of them supported the actress for sharing her side of the story. However, there many, who called it a PR game.

Dhanush's legal team reacted to Nayanthara's open letter

After Nayanthara issued the open letter against Dhanush, the latter's legal team issues a statement. They asked the OTT giant Netflix to remove the three-second clip they had used from Dhanush's film in their documentary. They even gave them 24 hours to remove the clip. The statement could be read as:

"Advice your client to take down the content infringing my client's copyright over the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan by using the same in your client's documentary named Nayanthara Beyond the Fairytale within 24 hours, failing which my client will be forced to initiate appropriate legal action, including but not limited to seeking damages to a sum of Rs. 10 crores against your client and Netflix India."
