Vignesh Shivan recently shared a special moment on Instagram from Nayanthara's birthday eve at a famous eatery in Connaught Place.
Nayanthara and her husband, director, Vignesh Shivan, proved that even celebs can enjoy a ‘real and normal’ moment, away from the glaring limelight. The duo recently celebrated Nayanthara’s 40th birthday with an intimate dinner in Delhi, and the experience left fans buzzing.
Nayanthara aka our ‘Lady Superstar’ just turned 40 a few days ago, on November 18, 2024. This birthday was special, not just for the release of her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale, but also because she kept away from over-the-top celebrations. The Tamil actress visited Delhi with her husband, Vignesh Shivan and their twin sons.
Vignesh recently shared a special moment on Instagram from Nayanthara’s birthday eve. The couple visited Delhi’s iconic Kake Da Hotel in Connaught Place, famous for its North Indian cuisine. Dressed casually, they waited 30 minutes for a table, enjoying an intimate meal while blending effortlessly into the bustling crowd.
Nayanthara looked effortless in a loose white t-shirt above a black skinny-fit top and blue jeans with her hair tied up in a knot. Vignesh also sported an off-white tee and joggers. As the food was served, the couple was captured sharing candid laughs and feeding each other bites of the delicious food, away from security and entourage. Vignesh posted the video with a caption that said:
“17th November, smallest birthday eve celebration in these many years. A Birthday eve dinner felt genuinely happy, personal, intimate and very tasty too #Delhi … jus the two of us :) standing in the queue for 30 mins :) and then get a nice centre table… with a lot of things going on behind! Still found a place to feel happy and be present in the moment :) Thanks to a sweet stranger who helped to capture this moment. #LifeIsBeautiful #godisgood”
Nayanthara posted a sweet comment on the post, calling it the best birthday dinner ever as she got a taste of normalcy in those moments. Nayanthara wrote:
“It was the best birthday dinner ever. it felt so real n normal”

Fans couldn’t stop gushing over the couple’s humility and down-to-earth nature. It was so refreshing to see such high-profile celebrities choosing to dine at a local restaurant that might not necessarily pass the hygiene test. One fan commented, “Good at least Nayan & her hubby enjoying the food in public without any disturbance”. Another comment wrote, “But the best I can say!! Happiness is having unhygienic yet super delicious food in a thara local restaurant”. A fan hilariously referred to Nayanthara’s blockbuster film, Jawan, with Shah Rukh Khan, “I think they didn't watch the JAWAN movie ....”
Nayanthara recently found herself in hot waters after South Indian superstar, Dhanush issued a legal notice over a three-second BTS clip from their 2015 film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which was included in Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale without permission. Dhanush alleged that the use of the footage was unauthorised and has reportedly sued her for Rs. 10 crore. The controversy added some unexpected drama to the Nayanthara’s life.
