Neena Gupta narrated why she advised her friend not to give her property to her children in a will.
Neena Gupta, the yesteryear actress, has now become the new favourite female celebrity of this generation. With a handful of movies and web series like Badhai Ho, Panchayat, Panga, Uunchai, she made a strong comeback in her career in her early 60s. She has tied the knot with chartered accountant, Vivek Mehra. Both have raised Neena’s lovechild, Masaba Gupta, with utmost care and grace.
In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Neena mentioned why parents should not give their self-acquired house to their children through a written will. Her recent film, Vadh, also revolves around a parents who took hefty loans for their children’s education abroad and later, problems into the family lead to a murder. In the interview, Neena narrated a story when she had advised one of her friends not to give her house to her children in will before dying. She said:
“It happened with someone I know. I had told them hundred times ‘marne se pehle makaan nahi naam karna bacho ke naam pe.”

In the same conversation, Neena added that her friend did not listen to her and later got thrown out of her house by her children. Neena mentioned how people should not make foolish decisions while being in an emotional state. In her words:
“But, they did it anyway. They were thrown out of the house during their ailment. People don’t listen and get emotional. This happens a lot because you can do anything for your kid. But, not necessarily they will be doing the same thing to you.”

Neena Gupta shares a warm bond with her daughter, Masaba Gupta. Though Masaba faced much criticism and trolling during her growing-up years, Neena always stood up strong bedside her. The doting daughter is one of the famous fashion designers in India and mostly stays busy. In the same conversation, when Neena was asked about Masaba’s review of the film, she said:
“Masaba ne film nahin dekhi. Madam is too busy now.”
On December 10, 2022, Neena had taken to her IG handle and dropped a stunning picture of herself clad in a black and white saree. The saree was designed by none other than her daughter, Masaba, for her mom’s film, Uunchai’s screening. Needless to say, Neena looked flawlessly elegant in it.
