Neena Gupta won the National Award, and her daughter, Masaba Gupta, who is showering her with immense support.
Neena Gupta has redefined acting goals for people of all ages. In the Hindi film industry, women find it difficult to get lead roles, but Neena broke stereotypes, and special roles were written just for her after she urged to get work with an Instagram post. Neena has not been soaring high on her career front, she is also winning awards.
Recently, she received the National Award for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 70th National Awards for the film, Uunchai. And it was her daughter, Masaba, who shwoered love on her mommy, Neena. She shared photos from the prestigious ceremony as president, Draupadi Murmu presented her with the award.
Neena Gupta was dressed in a gorgeous pink-toned saree, styled with a halter-neck blouse. Subtle makeup and flowers in her hair completed her look. Masaba also penned a note and shared that she would tell her baby that his nani has been winning National Awards since 1994. Her caption can be read as:
"Will tell my baby NaniJi is the coolest and was winning National Awards since 1994 with flowers in her 70th National Film Awards congratulations Neena Gupta."
For those who don't know, Neena Gupta is a three-time National Award Winner. Earlier, she had won awards for her role in Bazar Sitaram and Woh Chokri. Talking about this year's win, Neena shared that it was a big surprise for her, and it had been a long time since the film was released. She called the film extremely special.
It was in April 2024, when Neena Gupta was over the moon after finding out about her daughter, Masba's pregnancy. Taking to her Instagram handle, she re-shared a beautiful picture of Masaba with her husband, Satyadeep Mishra. In the picture, we can see Masaba sitting on the floor with her husband, Satyadeep Mishra. The fashion designer was dressed in her bathrobe and looked super happy as she kept her head on her hubby's shoulder. Along with it, the nani-to-be, Neena penned a note and expressed her happiness. She wrote:
"Humare bacchon ka baccha aane Wala hai. Isse zyada Khushi ki baat Kya ho sakti hai."
Once, Neena Gupta shared that she felt jealous after losing a role to someone else. The actress shared that the incident happened when a young filmmaker approached her and her good friend, Sunita Rajwar for a role in the series, Panchayat. The 64-year-old actress revealed that she felt jealousy creep in when her friends or contemporaries bag a role that she wanted to work on. She said:
"There is a bit of jealousy. I feel jealous when my friends or contemporaries bag apart, and I don’t, but I also take it in a good spirit."
