Neena Gupta recently talked about the importance of money in life. She also revealed how her CA husband, Vivek Mehra makes fun of her money savings tricks.
Neena Gupta is one of the most talented actresses in the Hindi film industry, who, even at the age of 65, has been providing her fans with some memorable films. Be it her acting skills or fashion statement, Neena can give a shoulder-to-shoulder fight to the Gen-Z's and millennials. In a recent conversation, Neena opened up about her finances, and revealed how her CA husband helps her with the same.
Neena Gupta recently sat for an interview on Kareena Kapoor's chat show, What Women Want, wherein she talked in detail about her finances. The actress shared that she has always been particular about her money. Neena said that since childhood, she was taught that money shouldn't be all that matters, but she now believes that money can actually buy everything one wants, even love. Neena further mentioned:
"I have always been very particular about my money. Since childhood, we have been taught that money is not everything, but I have learned that money can buy you everything. It can buy you love also, so it is everything.”
Going further in the conversation, Neena Gupta talked about the importance of having one's own money and mentioned that no matter how caring one's husband is, one should always have one's own money secured. The actress said that she has FDs, for which she had to be the subject of fun by her CA husband, Vivek Mehra, who feels that FDs fetches the least amount of interest, but the actress has her own peace with keeping her money saved this way. In Neena's words:
"I need to have my money also. No matter how caring my husband is and he looks after me, but I need my money in the bank as a security. I get FDs done. My husband is a CA so he says that the stupidest thing to do is FD because it fetches the least amount of returns. But it gives me peace, they all make fun of me."
Earlier, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Neena Gupta revealed that when she first came to Mumbai from Delhi, she had to take up a job as a waiteress. The actress shared that she would make bharta in the evening, and the owner would give her free dinner. Neena said that she used to wait for any producer to spot her. However, it was Neena's ex-beau, who, out of nowhere, started mocking her and insulting her for waitressing. The actress further added that her ex asked her if the actress had come down to Mumbai just to work as a waitress while he used to borrow money from her to buy cigarettes.
For the unversed, back in 1977, Neena Gupta married Amlan Kusum Ghose. Well, the marriage was short-lived and they parted ways. As per Neena, in this short-lived marriage, she and her ex-husband never quarreled. Neena was in a relationship with the former West Indies cricketer, Vivian Richards in the 1980s. The duo never married and they have a daughter, Masaba Gupta. It was in 2008 when Neena married Delhi-based CA, Vivek Mehra.
