Neetu Kapoor Wanted Raha To Say 'Papa' First, Told Alia 'Don't Be So Happy' As The Baby Said 'Mumma'

Karan Johar is back with the twelfth episode of his popular chat show, Koffee With Karan 8. This time, the filmmaker was joined by two legendary actresses of yesteryear, Zeenat Aman and Neetu Kapoor. The duo spoke about their acting lives, controversies, personal battles and much more. As they had a great chat, Neetu Kapoor also talked about her granddaughter, Raha Kapoor.

In the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 8, the host, Karan Johar congratulated Neetu on her granddaughter, Raha Kapoor turning one. Speaking about the baby, the Jugjugg Jeeyo actress revealed the mini battle she has with Alia Bhatt and her mother, Soni Razdan concerning Raha. Neetu said:

“At my home, the baby is growing. I keep instructing the help to tell her to say papa. But Soni says to tell her to say mumma.”

Neetu Kapoor on her fun banter with Alia Bhatt over Raha

Speaking along the same lines, Neetu Kapoor recalled her fun banter with Alia Bhatt over Raha and shared how she reacted when the latter told her that the little munchkin said 'Mumma'. Neetu laughed and added that she’s happy with the fact that Raha is saying 'da-da' and not 'na-na'. In her words:

“So, I went the other day to the house and Alia says, ‘Oh, by the way, she said mumma. So, I said, she didn’t say mumma but she said mum-mum. So, don’t be so happy. But she's saying 'da-da' and not 'na-na,' so I'm happy with that.”

For the unversed, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's daughter was born on November 6, 2022, and they named her Raha Kapoor. The unique name was chosen by none other than the baby girl's doting dadi, Neetu Kapoor. Talking about the beauty of Raha's name, Neetu shared that it’s very appropriate for the baby, as whenever she sees her, she feels calm. The actress added:

“I feel this name just suits her. I feel very rahat when I see her. She has got such a beautiful lovely, happy face.”

During the fun rapid-fire session on KWK8, Karan Johar asked Neetu Kapoor to reveal one thing from her marriage to Rishi Kapoor that she wants Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor to adopt from them. Without mincing her words, the actress quipped, “Nothing.” However, she further explained the reason behind the same and said that in today’s age, one should do what they want and just be happy.
