Raj Kapoor, into a Khatri Punjabi Hindu family of Prithviraj Kapoor and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor, was, is and will always be the greatest showman in the history of Indian cinema and entertainment. Actor, director and producer, Raj Kapoor was many talents rolled into one and when he had passed away in 1988, it was a huge loss for the Indian cinema. To mark the 96th birth anniversary of Raj Kapoor on December 14, 2020, his granddaughters, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni posted throwback pictures with their dadaji. Karisma posted a throwback picture with Raj Kapoor, cuddled in his arms and captioned it as “So many learning’s from my Dadaji… remembering you on ur birthday… #grandpalove #legend.” Posting a picture of her parents, Randhir Kapoor and Babita with late Raj Kapoor, Kareena wrote, “There will never be another... Happy birthday Dadaji.” Riddhima posted a throwback picture with Raj Kapoor, Kareena and Karisma on her IG stories and wrote, "Miss you" atop it.
Raj Kapoor’s daughter-in-law, Neetu Kapoor remembered her late father-in-law and late husband, Rishi Kapoor on this special day. Revisiting her wedding memories, Neetu Kapoor posted a monochrome picture from her wedding reception with Raj Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor in the frame and she was beautifully dressed up as a bride. Mrs Kapoor captioned her post as “Remember n miss both of them!!!” Rishi Kapoor looked suave as always in a white suit which perfectly complemented his wife, Neetu Kapoor’s silver saree that was reportedly gifted to her by her mother-in-law, Krishna Raj Kapoor.
Neetu Kapoor shared a special relationship with her mother-in-law, Krishna Raj Kapoor and since she couldn’t attend her last rites in 2018, the doting daughter-in-law had penned a eulogy. Sharing a picture with her mother-in-law, which had spoken volumes about their beautiful relationship, Neetu had written, “She was such a huge influence in my life admired her elegance with generosity and warmth!!! She will always stay in my heart #noonelikeher #besthumanbieng #lovedher #bestfriend." On Krishna Raj Kapoor’s first death anniversary, Neetu Kapoor had posted a selfie with her mother-in-law and had written, “Loved her more than a mother!!! it’s been a year since she left us I still feel she is around she will always stay in my heart with some wonderful memories. In a 2009 interview with The Times Of India, Neetu Kapoor had thrown some light on her relationship with her in-laws and how her mother-in-law is more like a mother to her. Mrs Kapoor had remarked, “I’m really lucky to be with the Kapoor family. It is a beautiful feeling. My in-laws have been wonderful and I guess I am a good daughter-in-law. My mother-in-law is more like a mother to me. In fact, she complains about her son to me. I think I have led a complete life. No regrets, absolutely.”
In another interview with Khaleej Times, Neetu Kapoor had talked about her equation with her in-laws and her relationship with her mother-in-law. She had said, “They've always been family. If I'd been fake with them, they would have seen through me. If I have an issue of any kind with any one of my in-laws, I don't let that fester within me. My mother-in-law (Krishna Raj Kapoor) treats me like her daughter.
