In a throwback interview, Neetu Kapoor talked about Rishi Kapoor's affairs and one-night stands and revealed why she was confident that he would never leave her.
Rishi Kapoor was hailed as the chocolate boy of Hindi cinema. When he made his debut with the film, Bobby, the actor went on to become an overnight star and along with the stardom came a huge female fan following. However, Rishi was smitten by the charm of Neetu Kapoor. It was never love at first sight for the two, but their gradual friendship bloomed into love.
After falling head-over-heels in love with one another, Rishi and Neetu tied the knot on January 22, 1980, and became parents to two adorable kids, Riddhima Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. After their marriage, Neetu quit acting and started taking care of her family and kids. Rishi, on the other hand, was still the heartthrob of millions.

We recently stumbled upon an old interview cutting of Neetu Kapoor, where she justified her husband’s affairs and called them ‘passing fancies’. In the interview, the beautiful actress revealed that she had caught her husband flirting hundreds of times. Sharing details about the same, Neetu said:
“I have caught him flirting hundreds of times. I always seem to be the first to hear about his affairs on outdoor locations. But I know they are just one-night stands. Two years ago, I used to fight with him about it but now I have adopted the attitude-go ahead, let’s see how long will you do it.”
Going further in the interview, Neetu stated that Rishi often wondered how she got to know about his flings. In her words:
“He always wonders how I come to know of his activities. I have a lot of friends, and they tell me about it. I just say to him, ‘I know about it. So let’s forget about it.’ Mind you, he always owns up to it. What bothers him is that I never fight. I just avoid or ignore him for some time.”

In the same interview, Neetu revealed giving space to the man as they are flirtatious by nature. Revealing why she feels Rishi would never leave her for another woman, Neetu further shared:
“We have become very confident about each other. I know his family comes first so why should I bother about his flings. They are just passing fancies. He is too dependent on me, he will never leave me. I feel that men should be given a certain amount of freedom. They are flirtatious by nature. One cannot bind them down."
On April 30, 2020, Rishi Kapoor bid adieu and left for his heavenly abode. On May 2, 2020, Neetu Kapoor shared an emotional farewell post for her late husband. She had taken to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of Rishi Kapoor with a drink in his hand, posing for the camera with his enchanting smile. She had captioned the picture as “End of our story.”
Despite his numerous affairs, Rishi and Neetu spent 40 years of marital bliss, and she stood by him through all the highs and lows.
