Once, Neetu Kapoor revealed how she used to struggle with her late husband, Rishi Kapoor's fancy vocabulary in the initial years of their marriage.
Veteran actress, Neetu Kapoor leads her life like a queen. The actress, who ruled the screens in the 80s and 90s, was last seen in the film, JugJugg Jeeyo. With her impeccable looks and fit physique, Neetu can give tough competition to all the younger actresses. However, not many know that Neetu embarked on her acting journey early in life, so she could not pursue higher education.
During her appearance on Koffee With Karan 1, Neetu Kapoor shared an interesting anecdote from her married life with Rishi Kapoor and revealed that she studied till the eighth grade. The actress revealed that she was naive when she got married, and Rishi would use big English words in front of her. She shared:
"Initially when I got married, I was very naive. He used big big words. He is very good in scrabble and you know... he used big words. Mai itni padi likhi nahi thi, I had just done 8th grade."

Neetu further continued that Rishi would often hang out with his friends, and she used to accompany him. However, she would often get bored, so she stopped going out with Rishi and his friends. However, her husband used to come home really late at night, which irked her. In her words:
"He used to go with his friends and be with them. And four-five times, I went, and I got bored, so I didn't go. Then, daily, he used to come home very late."
One day, Neetu Kapoor decided to confront Rishi and was very angry at his casual behaviour. However, when she opened the gate for her husband and started speaking, he told her that he hadn't led his life in duress. This made Neetu forget about all her anger, and she instead spent the whole night trying to find the meaning of 'duress'. The actress shared:
"So, one day, I decided that I am going to say that this is it. I was like so firm and so angry. I opened the door and I said , 'Look..' and I was so angry. He says, 'Listen I don't lead my life in duress.' Fir mera sab gussa bhool gayi mai apna, dictionary nikaali raat ko.. Ye duress kya hota hai?"

Rishi Kapoor broke many hearts when he married popular actress, Neetu Kapoor. The duo dated each other for a while and tied the knot on January 22, 1980. The couple has two children, Riddhima Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. For the unversed, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukaemia and passed away on April 30, 2020, after battling it for two years. The actor left a huge void in the lives of his family members, and since then, Neetu Kapoor has cherished their memories together.

Once, in an interview with Annu Kapoor on his radio show, Suhaana Safar, Neetu Kapoor revealed that her first meeting with her husband, Rishi Kapoor was horrible. Neetu and Rishi have worked together in many films such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Khel Khel Mein and Kabhi Kabhie. Recalling her first meeting with Rishi, Neetu Kapoor shared that the actor was a brat who used to bully everyone on the sets and added that he would comment on her make-up and clothes, making her feel so angry. Mentioning that she was very young at that time, Neetu shared that she used to be furious with him.
