As per the reports in Mid Day, Neha Dhupia is trying to curb the taboo of breastfeeding by encouraging women to talk about it and at the same time, not feel apologetic for talking about it. Neha was quoted as saying, "I've been lucky enough to find safe spaces in hotel bathrooms or someone's house or a trailer to breastfeed (her daughter) Mehr. But there are women, especially in rural areas, that are still grappling with such nuances, and struggling to talk about it. I'm not the first person to speak openly about breastfeeding. There have been others who have blazed a trail before me. But what I've tried to ensure is that the conversation doesn't die down. It's okay to talk about it, or be nervous, or even confused, but it is not okay to be apologetic about it."

Neha further talked about gaining weight during pregnancy and not letting society's opinions adhere with her timeframe of 'getting back into shape'. She said, "Women -- not men or the media -- control the narrative around their bodies during and after pregnancy. I put on 23 kilos after I gave birth to Mehr, but I refused to let society's ideals dictate my recovery. My husband (Angad Bedi) applied zero pressure on me to lose the baby weight. During my recovery and up until now, I've always given myself self-love and self-care. I've only just started dropping the pounds, but I'm okay being curvier too. I accept what my body wants to be." In an interview with the Asian Age, Neha Dhupia had spoken about the different roles that she and Angad Bedi play as parents to their almost-two-year-old daughter, Mehr Dhupia Bedi. Neha had remarked, "I am driving Mehr to her playdate, then Angad is busy changing diapers. Usually, we fix things as they come, but we work around our work schedules as well. We are in the same profession so there isn't much conflict. I look at it as love. When Mehr, my mother and I have a group hug, that's the most precious moment for me. This is the moment when my heart pops out for my mom, who took time to braid my hair, and more. She is responsible for making me the person I am today. But all of this had gone unnoticed until now."
