Screenwriter, Kanika Dhillon and her husband, Himanshu Sharma welcomed their first child, Veer. In an interview, she opened up about her experience as a new mommy.
Kanika Dhillon is a well-known name in the Indian film industry. With movies like Ra-One, Judgmental Hai Kya, Kedarnath, and many more, Kanika has wooed the audience with her amazing writing skills. She is married to Himanshu Sharma, who had won the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the film, Tanu Weds Manu Returns in 2016. A few days ago, Kanika Dhillon had taken the internet by storm when she had shared the first glimpse of their baby boy, Veer.
For the uninitiated, Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma had been dating each other for a long time and had kept their relationship under the wraps. Later, the couple had tied the marital knot in an intimate wedding on January 4, 2021, and had left their fans amazed. Just like their relationship, they had kept the news of their pregnancy a secret. It was only after the arrival of their baby boy, Veer that the couple shared the good news with their fans and had given them a glimpse of their son.

In an interview with ETimes, Kanika Dhillon opened up on how she managed to hide the news about her pregnancy for so long. Revealing the same, she shared:
"Himanshu and I were very cautious and superstitious as it was COVID times. It was such a scary period for everyone. So apart from our family and close friends, we did not share our little miracle baby news. Finally and thankfully the world is opening up now and we were bursting with joy to share our bundle of joy with the world at large. So there you are, we have announced."
The 'new mommy' then talked about how her child got his name and revealed that it was her husband, Himanshu's idea to name the kid, Veer. Talking about the same, she stated:
"Himanshu always wanted to name his child Veer if he had a son. The moment he suggested, I fell in love with the name; actually I also always quite liked the name ‘Veer’. So, our baby is called Veer Dhillon Sharma."

Kanika Dhillon revealed that they had done a lot of pre-shopping before the birth of Veer and were stuck to their phones, ordering stuff online. She also recalled a moment when Himanshu ordered a petrol bike of a 5-year-old kid for their newborn, and shared:
"My overexcited husband also ordered a bike before our Veer was born and I had to make him cancel that! So ya, it was a fun crazy memorable time prepping to be Veer’s parents!"
The screenwriter was also asked to shed some light on her journey as a 'new mommy' and how she's experiencing the new phase of her life. Talking about the same, she added:
"I feel that being a mother is something that I cannot describe in words. Just watching my child sleep or smile makes my heart explode. Your baby is your little heart that you hold in your hands. My son Veer gives me strength and courage that I didn’t know I had - he makes me a stronger woman and he makes me believe in miracles!"
Kanika Dhillon then talked about how much her life has changed after being a mother and how it feels to see her husband bond with their baby boy. Sharing the details, she said:
"Life has changed to be more of everything- more of love, more of laughter and more of drama! Veer has Himanshu wrapped around his little finger and I find it very endearing to see them bond."
Further in the interview, Kanika pointed out that her husband and their newborn share a very endearing bond which sometimes makes her feel jealous. Talking about their bond, she concluded:
"I am amazed when I see him with Veer. They seem to have a very special mystical bond and I envy that. Veer knows Himanshu is home even when he is in the lift. It’s so filmy that I can’t get over it."
