Actress-turned-politician, Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF official in Chandigarh airport. The newly elected BJP MP will file a complaint with the Home Ministry.
Kangana Ranaut stepped into politics after a successful career in the Hindi film industry. More recently, she was also elected as the MP of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The four-time national award-winning actress was travelling to Delhi when a mishap happened to her at Chandigarh airport.
On June 6, 2024, Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF security personnel at the Chandigarh airport. According to several media reports, the actress proceeded to the curtained area for a security check when the official, LCT Kulwinder Kaur, had a heated argument with her and then slapped her. While it is still unclear what led to such an altercation, the CISF jawan was reportedly angry at the newly elected MP for her previous statements regarding the farmer's protest.

Meanwhile, Kangana is yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. However, several media reports claim that the actress-turned-politician will be filing a complaint with the Home Ministry in Delhi. Moreover, an inquiry committee comprising senior officials has been set up to look into the matter even though there's no clarity as to what transpired.
Just before this incident came to the limelight, Kangana took to her Instagram stories and posted pictures of herself decked up in a beautiful pink-purple ombre saree paired with a matching blouse. She was seen hugging her mother, Asha Ranaut, as she was all set to travel to Delhi to start her journey in politics as a newly elected MP. Kangana captioned one of her pictures as:
"On my way to the parliament…Mandi Ki Sansad."

Kangana Ranaut defeated her rival, Congress' Vikramaditya Singh, by 74,000 votes to win Mandi. The actress-turned-politician revealed whether she would return to Mumbai in the near future. She said that she would be serving the people of her 'janmabhoomi' for the time being. In her words:
“As far as my departure to Mumbai is concerned, this is my Janmbhoomi, and I will continue to serve people here. I have always said that I will work as a soldier in PM Narendra Modi’s goal of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’. So I am not going anywhere. Perhaps, someone else will have to pack their bags and leave. I am not going anywhere.”
