Nick Jonas looked broken at Neelam Upadhyaya's wedding as he was missing his late father-in-law, Dr. Ashok Chopra. His picture with his late 'sasur ji' was shared by Neelam.
Priyanka Chopra’s younger brother, Siddharth Chopra, married the love of his life, Neelam Upadhyaya, on February 7, 2025. Priyanka's husband, Nick Jonas arrived for the functions on February 6, 2025. He soaked into the Indian traditions of the wedding of Siddharth with Neelam. A while back, Nick's sister-in-law, Neelam, shared unseen wedding photo dump pictures, which are adorable. However, in one particular picture, Nick looked sad as he was sitting in front of his paa-in-law's photo frame, late, Ashok Chopra.
Neelam took to her Instagram handle on February 8, 2025, to share unseen pictures from her wedding diaries. Siddharth and Neelam had met on a dating app, and their roka, coupled with the engagement ceremony, had happened in 2024. The photos were mushy, and Siddharth was seen kissing Neelam, who had worn a red lehenga. However, the most interesting picture was of Nick Jonas, sitting next to the photo frame of the late Ashok Chopra. The snap was monochrome in colour. Nick looked lost as he offered his respect to Ashok Chopra, but he missed him terribly on Siddharth and Neelam's important day.
As seen in the snap, Nick looked visibly upset next to the two photo frames of late Dr. Ashok Chopra. For the unversed, Priyanka's dad was a doctor in the Indian Army and one of the snaps looked like was from his serving days in the forces, as he was in the uniform.
Priyanka with her daughter, Malti had a blast at Siddharth and Neelam's pre-wedding functions. In her wedding photo dump series, Neelam started with a mushy picture of her husband kissing her on the cheeks. The next snap was of the actress showing off her wedding look. The snaps also had Siddharth, Priyanka, and their family members making the perfect baarat entry for the actress, along with her cousin, Parineeti, who was performing sister rituals at the wedding. Neelam had reshared her wedding photographer post that was captioned as:

Nick had taken Priyanka's childhood snap with her dad to his Instagram stories and shared it with her dad. He had written an emotional note for late Dr. Ashok and spoke about how he could never meet him, but his daughter and granddaughter made him feel connected to his 'paa in law'. His post read:
“Happy Father’s Day to my father-in-law Ashok Chopra. Although we never had the chance to meet in person, I feel so deeply connected to you through your daughter and your granddaughter. We all love you very much. @priyankachopra…(folded hands emoji).”
