Here's Niki Walia's love story with her husband, Sonny Walia. He decided to help her in her healing process after her car accident, and two years later, they got married.
Niki Aneja Walia is a famous actress in the Hindi film industry, whose almost similar facial features to Madhuri Dixit became the talk of the town. Over the years, she has worked in several films, TV shows, and more. Some of her famous Hindi films are Mr. Azaad, Chocolate, Lupt, and Tuesdays and Fridays, among many others. Moreover, her role as 'Dr. Simran Mathur' in the Hindi TV series, Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani made her a household name. Apart from that, she was also a judge for Femina Miss India 1994, which brought Aishwarya Rai as Miss World and Sushmita Sen as Miss Universe.
While Niki's professional life is quite well known to her fans, she, despite being a high-profile celebrity, kept her personal life lowkey. For the unversed, Niki Aneja Walia got married to Sonny Walia back in 2002 and moved to London. The couple is parents to their twin kids, Sean and Sabrina. While not much about Niki and Sonny's love story is available in the public domain, the actress, quite a few times, has talked about her bond with her husband, which proves that their equation is quite strong and an amalgamation of mutual love, companionship, and support.
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Niki shared that when she was in the hospital for one and half months after a car ran over her while shooting, it was Sonny who took care of her, and back then, they were only dating. For the unversed, while Niki was shooting for Gharwali Uparwali in 2000, she faced a terrible accident. The production team reportedly hired someone who was practising driving, and it ended up creating this much danger for Niki. Well, she had to be in the hospital, and her then-beau, Sonny took care of her. She shared that the minute she was discharged from the hospital, Sonny wanted her to take her to London, and she first didn't agree.
However, Sonny, being the doting partner to her, insisted that she would come 'home' with him so that he would take care of her, as he felt the actress couldn't heal while being in Mumbai for all the paps around and her celebrity status. Talking more about it, Niki added that she was mentally disturbed back then, for all the rumours around that she was dead. Well, this was the time when Sonny and Niki decided to tie the knot.
During the lockdown, the shoots of the serials needed to be done virtually, and Niki, who was in London back then was no exception. In an interview with the Times Of India, she revealed that her husband, Sonny had helped her while she started shooting at her home. The actress mentioned that Sonny had a blast while watching her transform from his wife to an actress, and she was a bit tensed, as while it's easy to perform in front of a whole lot of people when it comes to loved ones, people tend to get nervous.
During that time, Sonny and Niki used to wake up at 4 in the morning, and till 10 am, they would shoot, following the same, they would do their personal work at home, and it can only be proof of the cutesy bond the couple shares among them. In Niki's words:
"Sonny is having a blast, watching me transform from his wife into the character I am playing in this lockdown series. He is very patient with me. I never thought that I would be so comfortable because even if you can shoot in front of a hundred people on the set, you tend to get conscious around your loved ones.”
