Nikitin Dheer played the role of 'Sharifuddin Hussain' in Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama film, 'Jodhaa Akbar.' He featured alongside Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Nikitin Dheer is known for playing antagonists in well-known Bollywood films due to his sturdy physique and acting solid prowess. The actor who plays the role of 'Raavana' in the TV series, Shrimad Ramayana recently appeared on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube channel and shared some shocking details from his career. One of his initial roles in films was the role of ‘Sharifuddin Hussain’ in Ashutosh Gowariker's, Jodhaa Akbar. Now, Nikitin has made new revelations about his shooting experience for that film.
Nikitin Dheer played the role of villain 'Sharifuddin Hussain' in Ashutosh Gowariker's grand spectacle, Jodhaa Akbar. His character was of a brother-in-law and enemy to Hrithik Roshan's character of ‘Akbar.’ However, he found it difficult to relax and enjoy the shooting experience on the sets. Being new in the industry at that point, he thought of leaving the industry due to the ‘bad experience’ of working in the film. He was quoted as saying:
“As an artist, I didn’t have fun working on the film. It was a very bad experience for me, to the point that I told my father that I’d entered the wrong line, and that I’d rethink my life.”

Since Nikitin's role was supposed to be that of a warrior, he had trained physically to make it look more convincing. Moreover, he was trained in a specific language and dialect to portray his character precisely in the magnanimous period drama. However, several incidents, including a lack of coordination from the film's crew, made him fume. He said:
“I worked on my physique for the film, I trained for months in Urdu. I shot for more than 100 days. For example, I specially flew back from Istanbul to dub for the film. I must’ve made 90 phone calls to figure out what the plan is, but nobody from the production answered my calls. The third day, I was supposed to return to Istanbul, and that’s when I’m told that they’ve got somebody else to dub my part. It made me very angry. And there are so many incidents like this.”
Nikitin Dheer is the son of veteran actor, Pankaj Dheer. Pankaj was friends with Jodhaa Akbar's director, Ashutosh Gowariker. However, he refused to step in and help or mediate the issues that Nikitin faced during the film shoot. The veteran actor had made it clear to Nikitin that he would be on his own professional journey when he began working in the industry without expecting help from him. However, Nikitin's decision to quit the industry after working in Jodhaa Akbar changed when he worked on his next film, Mission Istanbul, and enjoyed it thoroughly.
