The Ambanis are the wealthiest family in India, with Mukesh Ambani being ranked first on the Forbes list of India's 100 Richest Tycoons with a net worth of a jaw-dropping USD 119.5 billion. The Ambani family is known for their grand gestures, celebrations, businesses, wealth, and home, Antilia. The magnificent building is located in Cumballa Hill, Mumbai, and is one of the most expensive houses in India.

Nita Ambani revealed why the Ambani family chose to reside on the 27th floor of their luxurious residence, Anitilia

Mukesh Ambani built a perfect home for his family; with 27 floors in total, the estate has every amenity one could desire. However, despite the multi-leveled building, the Ambanis decided to reside on the 27th floor of the house. The entire family, including Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, their elder son, Akash Ambani, daughter-in-law, Shloka Mehta, and their children, Prithvi Akash Ambani and Veda Akash Ambani, reside on the 27th floor.

Nita and Mukesh's younger son, Anant Ambani, and his now-wife, Radhika Merchant, live with the rest of the family on the 27th floor. However, it is often speculated why the Ambanis chose to live on the 27th floor out of all the floors. Reportedly, it was Nita Ambani who decided to reside upstairs because she wanted every room to have adequate natural light and proper ventilation. According to a report by the Times Now Hindi, only a close group of people are allowed on the 27th floor of their home.

About Ambani's luxurious home, Antilia

Antilia is one of the most expensive private residences on the planet. The construction of the magnificent home started in 2008 and took two years to complete. The Ambani family moved into the 27-story building in 2010 and have been living there since. Antilia offers a unique design and stands tall at a height of 568 feet. Its construction covers 4 lakh square feet and costs approx  Rs. 15,000 crore. For the unversed, the design and construction of this immaculate structure were overlooked by two American firms, Perkins & Will and Hirsch Bednar Associates.

The Ambanis' named their happy home after the phantom island in the Atlantic Ocean, Antilia. The estate is located on Billionaires' Rown in the heart of South Mumbai. The beautiful construction overlooks the gorgeous siting of the Arabian Sea and the skyline of Mumbai. However, it is not just a construction and design marvel; the structure possesses every amenity one could desire, including three helipads, multi-story car parking, nine high-speed elevators and special suits for the staff, among others.

Although the inside of this opulent home is still unseen by the common eye, the home holds a magnetic appearance on the outside as well, with a height of 173 meters and 37,000 square meters in size. The design of the Ambani home is not just an aesthetic sight but also makes the structure extremely resilient to an earthquake of up to a magnitude of 8.0. The home is fully equipped for entertainment and hosting purposes as well, with three pools, a ballroom, a salon, and a health spa, all inside the building.

In addition, there are dancing and yoga studios, which are maintained by over 600 employees working in Antilia alone. The home also features a beautiful hanging garden and a snow room to escape the humidity of Mumbai, all of which are well-kept by the attendants of the respective areas. The home also has an ice cream shop where guests can indulge in freshly prepared gelato in a chamber with fake snowflakes coming out of the walls.
