Nita Ambani knows how to put her best fashion foot forward. She has an amazing collection of sarees, which tell India's rich heritage tale. Her jewellery closet is filled with expensive diamonds, gold and emerald jewels, which she loves to mix and match with her outfits. Over the years, we have always seen her dressed to the nines whenever she steps out for an event or family function. Recently, she made heads turn with her jewellery piece from the Mughal emperor at the Miss World 2024 competition.
On March 9, 2024, Nita Ambani stunned in a handloom saree for the Miss World pageant that was held in Mumbai, India. She was also facilitated with 'Beauty with Purpose Humanitarian Award' for her philanthropic work. Talking about her evening look, Nita Ambani picked a Banarasi saree with jangla design, which was handcrafted from lustrous gold and zari, which added elegance to her look. The intricate floral jaal with meenakari detailing accentuated her look further. Nita Ambani kept her look on point with soft, sparkly eyeshadow, glossy lips, blushed cheeks, and a bindi. Her hair, left in soft curls, completed her look. On the other hand, Nita Ambani picked statement earrings and kadas that completed her look.
According to an IG page, Topophilia, the page revealed that the jewel has a height of 13.7 cm and 19.8 cm wide. It is made of gold and set with diamonds, rubies, and spinels, using the Pachhikakaam technique adopted by Indian jewellers attempting to mimic the European claw setting. The report further claimed that the beautiful piece of jewellery was last seen at the AI Thani Collection before being divested at auction in 2019.
Nita Ambani loves her jewellery, and she never shies away from re-styling them. However, one item in her jewellery collection that left our jaws dropped was when she flaunted a huge diamond nath for her daughter, Isha Ambani's wedding day in 2018. Yes, for Isha's wedding day, Nita was decked up in all-diamond jewellery. While her entire look was perfect, it was her nath that stole all the attention.
We all will agree that diamonds look great whether you team it with an Indian outfit or a Western one. However, for the first time, we saw a huge diamond nath with a huge diamond hanging from it. Nita Ambani's nath was encrusted with layers of diamonds, and a huge 1LB diamond was hanging from it. And Nita beautifully flaunted her heavy nath during the entire wedding.
Apart from collecting precious jewellery, Nita Ambani is also known for hoarding expensive sarees. In 2015, she wore a super expensive saree for the wedding of the Reliance Group of Industries CEO, Parimal Nathwani’s son. The saree was designed by Sivalingam, the director of Chennai Silks. It features Lord Nathdwara's motif at the back of the blouse. The image of Lord Krishna was embroidered on the blouse using a variety of colours and intricate embroidery.
Nita Ambani's white and pink toned saree is made up of real gold threadwork, and it features diamonds and precious gems like emeralds, rubies, pukhrajs and many more. However, it is the price of the saree that left everyone's jaw dropped. The saree is priced at a whopping Rs. 40 lakhs. It is one of the most expensive things Nita Ambani owns in her closet.
