Actress Nitanshi Goel, who portrayed the titular role of Phool Kumari in Kiran Raos film, 'Laapataa Ladies' missed her class 11th final exams for the film.
It is celebration time for the entire cast and crew of Laapataa Ladies as the film has officially been selected for the Oscars 2025. Everyone, from the makers to the cast and other members, is over the moon with the news and hopes the film will make history by winning the Oscars. Do you know that one of the lead actresses in the film, Nitanshi Goel, had to miss her class 11th exams for the film?
It so happened that Nitanshi was in class 9th when the shooting of the film began. However, by the time the promotions of the film started, Nitanshi had her class 11th exams. The talented actresses missed giving the exams to promote her film. In an interaction with Ranveer Allahbadia, Nitanshi revealed:
“I have gotten very supportive friends and teachers. Because my promotions were going on, so I could not take my final exams. I took them later for 11th standard. During the exam, a teacher came to me and said, ‘You’ve done such good work!’”
In the same interaction, Nitanshi also revealed how she took her class 9th exams while shooting for Laapataa Ladies and used to prepare for the same during breaks. In her words:
“I took my exams just before the shooting of Laapataa Ladies. And a day after the shooting, I had my Class 9 final exams. So, the time I got to prepare for my exam was during the break in between the shots. I used to carry my science and maths books with me.”
Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies garnered a lot of attention after its release on the OTT platform Netflix. The film not only deals with women empowerment but also celebrates the spirit of womanhood. Nitanshi Goel played the titular role of 'Phool Kumari' in the film. The then 16-year-old awestruck the audience with her splendid performance and also welled up many eyes with her innocence.
Nitanshi faced many challenges while playing ‘Phool Kumari’, one of which was tanning her face. Nitanshi, who has soft, glowy skin, tanned her face for three months by spending 2-3 hours daily under sunlight to get a rugged look. It almost took her five months post-shoot to attain her original skin tone.
Nitanshi began her acting debut at the age of 9. She has acted in TV shows like Naagarjuna: Ek Yoddha, Karmaphal Daata Shani, Ishqbaaz, Daayan, Peshwa Bajirao, and many more. Apart from TV shows, Nitanshi has also been seen in films like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Indu Sarkar, Hurdang, and the recently released Laapataa Ladies.
