During Nitin Gadkari's appearance at the India Economic Conclave in June 2023, the politician was talking about his projects when he mentioned that he is not from an engineering background. Nitin Gadkari addressed the ongoing speculations about his educational background and denied being an engineering graduate. The politician clearly stated that he got 52 percent marks in class 12 and that he wanted to do engineering, but he couldn't even apply for it.

Revealing the reason behind it, Nitin Gadkari said that he got 49.26 percent in science, which was why he could not sit even in an engineering entrance exam. Further, in his statement, Nitin Gadkari also revealed that he has been awarded six honorary D.Litt so far in his life, but he still hesitates to add 'Doctorate' in his name. According to the official website of Bharatiya Janata Party's portal, Nitin Gadkari has three significant degrees, M.com, L.L.B., and D.B.M.
In an interview with Samdish Bhatia on his YouTube channel, Unfiltered by Samdish, Nitin Gadkari opened up about his take on same-sex marriages and live-in relationships. The politician revealed that when he once visited the British Parliament, their Prime Minister and Foreign Minister told him that the biggest problem in their and other European countries is that young men and women aren't getting married and instead opting for live-in relationships.

Nitin Gadkari further added that same-sex marriages will destroy society because there will be no kids and will eventually contribute to the collapse of our society. However, the politician clearly stated that everyone has the right to live their life in their own way. However, same-sex marriage and live-in relationships are destroying the institution of marriage and society as a whole. The way Nitin Gadkari shared his views on such a sensitive topic without causing controversy speaks volumes about his stature as a politician.
