Nitish Bharadwaj, who played Lord Krishna in 'Mahabharat', has been going through a tough time ever since he parted ways from his estranged wife. Now, he filed a complaint against her.
Famous actor, Nitish Bharadwaj has been going through a rough phase ever since he parted ways from his estranged wife, Smita Gate. The couple tied the knot in 1991 and was blessed with twin daughters. However, things took an ugly turn when Nitish never talked about the reason behind his separation but hinted that his divorce case was pending in court in 2022. Recently, Nitish Bharadwaj filed a complaint against his estranged wife, Smita and accused her of mental harassment and for not letting him meet his daughters.
According to a report by Free Press Journal, Nitish has filed a police complaint against his estranged wife, Smita Gate, who is an IAS officer. In his plea, he revealed that he initiated a divorce in 2018, which is still unresolved. Amidst it, his wife has obstructed his access to meet his daughters, Devyani and Shivranjani, by relocating their school without his consent. Nitish further added that this action has been creating an impact on his mental health.

Nitish requested intervention from Bhopal's police commissioner, Harinarayanachari Mishra, on his legal battle and denial of visitation rights to his daughters. After receiving the complaint, police took immediate action and assigned an investigating officer, Phalguni Dixit to further look into the matter.
In 2022, Nitish Bharadwaj, who never talked about his personal life, first time talked about his separation in an interview with ETimes. He revealed that he parted ways from his wife due to unresolved issues, and his daughters are living with his wife. He also stated that divorce is more painful than death. He was quoted as saying:
"Yes, I filed for a divorce in the Family Court in Mumbai in September 2019. I do not want to get into the reasons why we separated. The matter is in court right now. All I can say is that sometimes divorce can be more painful than death as you live with an amputated core."
On the work front, Nitish Bharadwaj gained a lot of fame after he played Lord Krishna in Mahabharat.
