Former television actress, Nupur Alankar was born on November 25, 1972, in Jaipur. As per the reports, she completed her schooling at a private school in Jaipur. However, later in her life, she shifted to Mumbai with her family. Right from an early age, she had a deep interest in cultural activities. From getting good grades in school and college to getting into acting and dance, Nupur was extremely talented right from an early age.
After completing her graduation, Nupur Alankar kick-started her journey in the entertainment industry by doing some modelling projects and appearing in a few brand advertisements. Soon, she got the chance to work in the television industry, and after featuring in a few renowned shows, Nupur Alankar became a recognised celebrity across the nation. Not only this, she was also a part of India's greatest superhero show, Shaktiman and worked with iconic directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, David Dhawan, Sanjay Jha, and Aparna Ganesh.
During her career as an actress, Nupur Alankar shared the screen space with renowned actors like Mukesh Khanna, Gaurav Khanna, Yami Gautam, Parul Gulati, Shweta Gautam, Chandan K Anand, and many more. It was back in September 2022 when Nupur Alankar shocked the entertainment industry after she announced her decision to leave the entertainment industry to embark on a spiritual journey.
It was a disheartening moment for Nupur's massive fanbase after she confirmed that she took sanyaas back in February 2022. In a conversation with ETimes, Nupur mentioned that she was lucky to have a guru like Shambhu Sharan Jha, who helped her understand adhyatm.
Further, in the same interview, Nupur Alankar rubbished the rumours of her being unhappy and emotionally devastated in her life. The actress stated that it's a common misconception about sanyaas among people that one needs to be down in life in order to go on a spiritual path. Admitting that she was happy in her life but wanted to explore the depths of spirituality, which was why she left her glamorous life behind.

Months after her interview, a video of Nupur Alankar broke the headlines when she was spotted begging in the streets of Braj. Dressed in simple clothes, she looked quite happy while praying and doing parikrama on the Giriraj mountain. Soon, the video circulated all over the place, and Nupur started receiving positive comments from her massive fanbase, who accepted her personal choice of embracing the life of a sanyasi.
In another heart-to-heart conversation with ETimes, Nupur Alankar opened up about her marriage with Alankar Srivastava and discussed her decision's impact on it. The actress shockingly revealed that her husband completely supported her decision to become a sanyasi. Not only this, Nupur also added that she and Alankar haven't taken the legal route for separation. She said:
"I didn't have to ask (smiles!). He knew where I was headed as I spoke with him once about wanting to take sanyaas. He has freed me and his family has also accepted my decision. I wish Alankar the best in life. It (marriage) was great till it lasted. We aren't together though we haven't taken the legal route for separation."
